Imam Hasan (AlaihisSalam) – The Leader of Heavens.



15th Ramadan marks the birth of Imam Hasan (ra), the eldest son of Imam Ali and Sayyida Fatima az-Zahra (salamullahi alaihim ajmaeen wa radiAllahu anhum ajmaeen). The Prophet ﷺ loved Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra) so much that he called them his sons. 1

Below are the virtues of Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra) (the Hasnain):

• Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra) are from the Ahle Bayt / the people of the Cloak 2

• They are from the descendants of Prophet Muhammed ﷺ

• They are from the best of genealogies

• They are from the flowers of the Prophetic garden on earth

• Prophet Muhammed ﷺ himself gave Adhaan and performed Aqeeqah for Imam Hasan (ra) (and Imam Husain (ra) – Allah is pleased with them both)

• Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra) resembled Sayyiduna Rasolullah ﷺ

• Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra) are the leaders of the heavens

• Prophet Muhammed ﷺ said: “It is mandatory for those who love me, to love them both (referring to Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra))

• The holy Prophet ﷺ said: “Those who loved Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra), loved Allah.”

• The holy Prophet ﷺ said: “Those who loved Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra), will be with me on the day of qiyamah.”

• Prophet Muhammed ﷺ said to both Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra): “May my parents be sacrificed on to you; what an elevated stature you both hold in the court of Allah.”

• Prophet Muhammed ﷺ became restless when he heard the Hasnain cry.

• Prophet Muhammed ﷺ descended from his pulpit (while giving Khutbah), to ensure Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra) do not get hurt.

• As infants, Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra) used to play on Prophet Muhammed’s ﷺ sacred body.

• As infants, Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra) used to mount on Prophet Muhammed’s ﷺ sacred body, while the Prophet ﷺ used to offer prayers.

• Prophet Muhammed ﷺ used to carry Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra) on his blessed shoulders and used to say: “They two are such good travellers (on the blessed shoulders).”

• Prophet Muhammed ﷺ used to elongate his prostrations (sujood) when Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra) used to sit on him.

• Prophet Muhammed ﷺ used to held tight Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra) in his cloak, out of his love for them both.

• Among those who will first enter the heaven with Prophet Muhammed ﷺ are Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra).

• On the day of resurrection, Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra) will be beneath the dome of the Divine Throne (Arsh).

• On the day of resurrection, Imam Hasan (ra) and Imam Husain (ra) will be with Prophet Muhammed ﷺ.
