THE PROTECTOR OF REFUGEES
The teachings of Prophet Muhammad granted protection to refugees. Addressing issues of social justice the Qur’an specifically says: And if any of the idolaters seeks asylum with you, provide him with protection until he listens to the Words of Allah. Then escort him to his haven. This is because these people do not possess the knowledge (of the truth). [Q.9:6.]
Nabi Pakﷺ spoke constantly and consistently to his Companions about the benefits and the necessity of helping those in need. Nabi Pakﷺ said: “Whoever grants respite to someone in difficulty or alleviates him, God will shade him on the Day of Resurrection when there is no shade but His.”¹
