The Miracles of the Nabi Pakﷺ – part 9

The story of Umm Shuraik:

Imâm al-Baihaqî related on the authority of Abû Hurairah who said: “There was a woman from the tribe of Doas called Umm Shuraik who embraced Islâm in Ramadân”. Abû Hurairah mentioned the story of her migration to Madînah, accompanied by a Jewish man. On the way, she became thirsty, but he refused to give her water unless she embraced Judaism. She fell asleep and saw in her dreams that someone was giving her water, and when she woke up she felt that she has quenched her thirst. When she came to the Nabi Pakﷺ she told him her story, and he asked her for marriage, but she felt that she did not deserve to be the wife of the Nabi Pakﷺ and said to him: “But marry me to whoever you choose”. He married her to his slave Zaid Ibn Hârithah, and he ordered that 30 Sâ’ (a measure of capacity) of barley be given to her, and said to them: “Eat and do not re-measure the barley”. She also had some clarified butter in a small leather skin which she intended to give as a present to the Nabi Pakﷺ. She ordered her servant to carry it to him, and when she arrived there, she poured it all for him. He ordered her to hang it in its place, when she gets back (to Umm Shuraik) and not to tie it up. When Umm Shuraik came in, she found that the skin was full, so she asked her servant: “Didn’t I ask you to take it to the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ ? The servant assured her that she did. They mentioned what happened to the Nabi Pakﷺ and he ordered them not to tie it up. It remained there for a while, until Umm Shuraik tied it up, and when they measured the barley, they found that it was still 30 Sâ“”.
Another Hadîth reported by Jâbir:

Imâm Muslim reported on the authority of Jâbir that a man came to the Nabi Pakﷺ and asked for food. He gave him half a Wasq (measure) of barley, and the man and his wife and their guest kept on making use of it (as a food) until he weighed it (in order to find the actual quantity), but he found nothing left. He came to Allâh’s Messenger ﷺ and informed him about it. He said: “Had you not weighed it, you would be eating out of it and it would have remained intact for you “

हज़रत इमाम हुसैन रज़ियल्लाहु तआला अन्हु

हज़रत इमाम हुसैन रज़ियल्लाहु तआला अन्हु

हज़रत अब्बास रज़ियल्लाहु तआला अन्हु की बीवी हज़रत उम्मे फज्ल रज़ियल्लाहु तआला अन्हा ने एक रात ख़्वाब में हुजूर सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि वसल्लम के जिस्मे अकदस का एक टुकड़ा उनकी गोद में रखा है। यह ख्वाब देखकर वह बड़ी हैरान हुई। हुजूर सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि वसल्लम की ख़िदमत में हाज़िर होकर बोलीं या रसूलल्लाह! मैंने एक अजीब ख़्वाब देखा है। वह यह कि आपके जिस्मे अकदस का एक टुकड़ा मैंने अपनी गोद में पड़ा देखा है। हुजूर सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि वसल्लम ने फरमायाः तूने बड़ा अच्छा ख़्वाब देखा है इंशाअल्लाह मेरी फातिमा के यहां एक बच्चा पैदा होगा जो तेरी गोद में खेलेगा। चुनांचे हज़रत फ़ातिमा रज़ियल्लाहु तआला अन्हा के यहां हज़रत इमाम हुसैन रज़ियल्लाहु तआला अन्हु पैदा हुए और उम्मे फज़्ल की गोद में खेले ।

(मिश्कात शरीफा सफा ५६४ ) सबक़ : हज़रत इमाम हुसैन रज़ियल्लाहु तआला अन्हु हुजूर सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि वसल्लम के लख़्ते जिगर हैं। आपकी मुहब्बत हुजूर की मुहब्बत और आपको ईज़ा (तकलीफ़) देना हुजूर सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि वसल्लम को तकलीफ देना है।

शाह बद्रुद्दीन साहब के शिष्य होने की घटना

आप सैय्यदना शाह शमसुद्दीन साहब कादरी चिश्ती साबरी रह० के सुपुत्र थे। शाह शमसुद्दीन साहब उस जमाने के विख्यात संतों और फकीरों में एक थे। अपने पीर के आदेश से बारह वर्ष तक भ्रमण करते रहे । हिन्दू सन्तों में भी बहुत दिनों तक रहे। भ्रमण के पश्चात् जब गुरू के सामने आये तो गुरूजी ने आदेश दिया कि पीराने पीर कलिया शरीफ में हाजिरी दो। बारह रबीउल अव्वल को बारह बजे रात्रि में जो बुजुर्ग मज़ार शरीफ पर मिलें उनके शिष्य हो जाओ। अतः हजरत शाह शमसुद्दीन ने ऐसा ही किया किन्तु उस बुजुर्ग ने बड़ी मुश्किल से बैय्यत लिया और सैय्यदना साबिर रह० के मज़ार की ओर संकेत कर कहा इनके सुपुर्द हो । उसी रात

शाह शमसुद्दीन ने एक छन्द रचा जिसका प्रथम पद

.निछावर अपने मुर्शिद पर कि जिसने हमको दिखलाया। जमाले आरिजे जेबा अलाउद्दीन साबिर का ॥

जब शाह शमसुद्दीन साहब की अन्तिम बेला आई तो आपके सुपुत्र बदरूद्दीन साहब ने आप से बैय्यत करने का आग्रह किया। आपने कहा मेरे पास जो तुम्हारा हिस्सा है वह तो तुम को अवश्य मिलेगा किन्तु मैं तुमको शिष्य नहीं करूंगा। तुमको वसीयत (मरते समय जो किसी से करने को कहा जाता है ) तुम हजरत सैय्यद वारिस पाक के शिष्य बनो। यदि ऐसा तुमने नहीं किया तो क्यामत में तुम्हारा दामनगीर हूँगा। इस जमाने में उनके अतिरिक्त कोई फकीर नहीं है। हाँ! बुजुर्ग तो बहुत हैं और शाह साहब ने नश्वर शरीर का त्याग कर दिया। बदरूद्दीन साहब कहते हैं धीरे-धीरे यह बात मेरे ज़ेहन से निकल गई। मैंने एक स्वप्न देखा कोई कहता है तुम्हारे पिता बुला रहे हैं। पूरब की ओर बाग में हैं। मैं बाग में जाने लगा। मैंने देखा ठीक रास्ते में साँप है जिसका दोनों सिरा पथ के दोनों ओर ज़मीन में फंसा है। मैं साँप को हटाने लगा पर वह नहीं हटा। एक व्यक्ति ने मुझे चाकू दिया और कहा तुम इसको बीच से काटो तो यह हट जायेगा मैंने साँप काटकर हटा दिया और आगे बढ़ा। बाग के और मेरे बीच एक नदी बहती दिखाई दी। मैं नदी को पार करना चाहता था कि मेरे पिता की तपस्या – स्वर मुझे सुनाई पड़ रही थी। मैंने घबराकर आवाज़ दिया ‘मैं किस तरह नदी पार करूं कोई नाव बेड़ा कुछ भी नहीं दिखाई पड़ रहा है।’ मेरे पिता ने कहा पूरब के रास्ते से आओगे तो मुझ तक पहुंचोगे। इतने में मेरी आँख खुल गयी। मैंने अपने मन में स्वप्न का अर्थ लगाया कि संकेत शिष्य बनने की ओर है और प्रस्थान कर देवा शरीफ पहुँचा। शिष्य हो गया। फिर शाह फ़जल हुसेन साहब वारसी गद्दीनशीन शाह वलायत की ख़ानकाह (कुटी) में विश्राम के लिये रूका | मेरे मन में यह शंका हुई कि हाजी साहब शिष्य करना नहीं जानते सबके सामने मुझको शिष्य किया है जबकि यह कार्य एकान्त में होता है। उसी समय मकान के सहन के चबूतरे पर बैठे हुए शाह फ़जल हुसेन साहब ने मुझको बुलाकर कहा कि तुमने फकीर कहाँ देखे हैं? तुम्हारे पिता अवश्य फकीर हैं जिन्होंने तुमको यहाँ भेजा है। क्या वह स्वप्न तुमको याद नहीं है ? यही विचार वह सर्प है और चाकू हमारी बातें हैं। मैंने अपने पिता की बातों का और सपने का अब तक किसी से वर्णन नहीं किया था। ये बातें सुनकर मेरे हर प्रकार के भ्रम मिट गये। मारे भय के मैं हाजी साहब के सामने नहीं गया। शाम को शाह फज़ल हुसेन साहब के पूछने पर मैंने कहा मारे भय के मैं सरकार में उपस्थित न हो सका। शाह फजल हुसेन साहब ने कहा कि वह कुछ न कहेंगे, जाओ। हमी लोग ओछे हैं जो कह देते हैं। वह तो अथाह सागर हैं। इसके बाद मैं सरकार में हाजिर हुआ। मुझको देखकर हुजूर मुस्कुराये और कहा ‘जाओ! बछरायूं में हमारे बहुत चेले हैं। हाल यह था कि उस समय बछरायूं में केवल दो शिष्य एक कादरी साहब दूसरे हाफिज़ अब्दुल मजीद साहब थे किन्तु इस कथन के पश्चात् दो सौ से अधिक चेले हो गये। फिर मुझे फकीरी वस्त्र देकर कहा ‘किसी से सवाल न करना चाहे दम निकल जाय और अपने पिता की समाधि पर रहना। यदि तुम यहाँ न आते तो वह क़यामत में तुम्हें पकड़े पकड़े फिरते।’ फिर उपस्थित गणं से कहा, ‘यह खानदानी फकीर हुये हैं, और इनका फकीरी नाम अवघट शाह रखा। अवघट शाह का पद हैघट घाटी घाट न अवघट जाने, न जाने कवनो राह कृपा भई गुरू वारिस की, जो हो गये अवघट शाह ॥

SARIYA BANI TAY

After the conquest of Makka the idols of the Kaaba had been destroyed. Dirng the ghazwa e Taef, the idols of Bani Thaqeef and Bani Hawazan too were destroyed. But those of Bani Tay were still intact. Among these idols was one, by name of Filis that was the center of their adulation! The Prophet (s.a.) determined to destroy it too. He deputed Hazrat Ali (a.s.) during the month of Rabi al Thani 9H towards the habitations of Bani Tay to destroy the idols there and invite the people to the Right Path. Hazrat Ali (a.s.) started for the campaign with a contingent of 150 men. The Chief of Bani Tay, Adi bin Hatim went toward Syria along with his family and children, when he heard of the arrival of the Muslim contingent. Hazrat Ali (a.s.) attacked the neighborhood of Aal e Hatim and destroyed their idol. From that place he got three expensive armors and three swords. Among these swords were Rasoob and Maqzam that were very famous swords throughout Arabia for their excellent quality.which were offered to the idols by Harit ibne Abi Shimr. Besides these, lot of other valuables and livestock were obtained from there.. Hazrat Ali (a.s.) distributed some of the booty to the men in the contingent and took the rest and the captives to Madina. Among the captives there was Safana, the daughter of the legendary Hatim, who was accommodated at a place near the mosque where captive women were generally kept. During those days the Prophet (s.a.) passed that way when Safana complained that her father was dead and there was none to take care of her. She pleaded to be released and said that Allah will reward him for the kindness. The Prophet (s.a.) asked who she was? She said that she was the sister of Adi ibne Hatim. The Prophet (s.a.) asked her if she was the sister of the same Adi bin Hatim who fled from Allah and His Prophet (s.a.). Saying this, he went his way. The next day when he passed that way, Safana pleaded again and he gave the same reply! Safana thought that there was no hope left for her release! The third time when the Prophet (s.a.) passed that way, she had no courage to renew her appeal. While she was thinking whether to say anything or not, someone from behind the Prophet (s.a.) prompted her to appeal to the Prophet (s.a.) for her release. She took courage in her hands, stood up and said, “O Prophet of Allah (s.a.)! Please don’t make me a subject of ridicule among my people! I am the daughter of the Chief of Bani Tay, Hatim! My father was very charitable His wont was to release the captives, feed the poor and help the needy!” The Prophet (s.a.) ordered that she be released forthwith because she was the daughter of a person who was gentle, kind and held high morals. He also told to Safana to stay in Madina till a dependable escort was arranged to send he safely to her people. Safana asked the people about the identity of the person who prompted her to speak with the Prophet (s.a.). They informed her that he was the Prophet (s.a.)’s cousin Ali ibne Abi Talib (a.s.). After sometime, a caravan from Bani Qaza-aa came to Madina. Safana requested the Prophet (s.a.) to send her with them. The Prophet (s.a.) made good arrangements for her journey and she safely reached her brother Adi Bin Hatim in Syria.

Safana complained to her brother Adi that he abandoned her alon and fled. She also told him about Hazrat Ali (a.s.) on whose prompting she could accomplish her release from captivity. She also told him about the
good treatment meted out by the Prophet (s.a.) to her. She very strongly suggested to Adi to go to the presence of the Prophet (s.a.) at the earliest that he will get the honor of joining the ranks of the people who have adopted the Right Path. Adi says that he liked the suggestion and therefore headed for Madina. When he went to the presence of the Prophet (s.a.) in the Masjid e Nabavi, he told him that he was Adi ibne Hatim. The Prophet (s.a.) was very pleased to meet him and asked him to accompany him home. On the way they met an old woman.and heard her complaints. Adi thought that the Prophet (s.a.) hadn’t the slightest element of pride and conceit for his position. When they reached the Prophet (s.a.)’s home, he spread his carpet for Adi to sit. And himself squatted on the bare ground. Adi again thought that this cannot be the way of royalty! Adi was still indecisive in his mind when the Prophet (s.a.) said, “O Adi! You take a fourth of the booty of war, but in your Christian Faith this is not permissible! Perhaps you are shy of our Faith because there is poverty among our people and there are lots of enemies in our environment! But soon there will be such affluence here that even on searching there will be scarcity of takers for the wealth! Women will then visit the bayt Allah all alone fearlessly! You will learn that the Qasr e Abyad ( the White Palace) of Babel has been annexed by the Muslims!”

Adi witnessed with his own eyes the excellent character and manners of the Prophet (s.a.) and heard his talk that went straight to his heart! He embraced Islam at the same auspicious moment and became an ardent companion of Hazrat Amir al Momineen (a.s.) and was on his side during the campaigns of Jamal, Siffin and Nahrwan.
