Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that Hazrat Ali bin Abi Talib Karamulla wajehul kareem said that the man in the ayah was ‘Uzair (a prophet of Allah). Ibn Jarir also reported it, and this explanation was also reported by Ibn Jarir and Ibn Abi Hatim from Ibn ‘Abbas, Al-Hasan, Qatadah, As-Suddi and Sulayman bin Buraydah.
Mujahid bin Jabr said that the ayah refers to a man from the Children of Israel, and the village was Jerusalem after Nebuchadnezzar destroyed it and killed its people.
When ‘Uzair ‘alayhi salaam passed by the empty town with its roofs and walls to the ground, he stood there and contemplated what had happened to the great civilization that used to inhabit that town. He said, “How will Allah ever bring it to life after its death?” He said this because of the utter destruction he saw and the implausibility of its returning to what it used to be. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala caused him to die for a hundred years and then brought him back to life.
He was asked for how long did he sleep, he replied, “(Perhaps) I remained (dead) a day or part of a day.” The scholars said that since the man died in the early part of the day and Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala resurrected him in the latter part of the day. When he saw that the sun was still apparent, he thought that it was the sun of that same day.
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala informed him that he had been sleeping (remained dead) for a hundred years, “…look at your food and your drink, they show no change; and look at your donkey!”
Ibn Katheer writes: ‘Uzair ‘alayhi salaam had grapes, figs, and juice, and he found them as he left them; neither did the juice spoil nor the figs become bitter nor the grapes rots. But the donkey had decayed.
Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala said, “And thus, We have made of you a sign for the people,” sign here means that the confirmation that Resurrection occurs. He then commanded ‘Uzair ‘alayhi salaam to look at the bones of his donkey and how Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala will bring them together and clothe them with flesh.
The word nunshizuha [نُنشِزُهَا] is from the root letters noon-sheen-zay and it means to be high, lifted up or rise up.
The word naksuha [نَكْسُوهَا] is from the root letters kaf-seen-wau and it means clothing.
As-Suddi said: ‘Uzair ‘alayhi salaam observed the bones of his donkey, which were scattered all around him to his right and left, and Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala sent a wind that collected the bones from all over the area. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala then brought every bone to its place, until they formed a full donkey made of fleshless bones. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala then covered these bones with flesh, nerves, veins and skin. He then sent an angel who blew life into the donkey’s nostrils, and the donkey started to bray by Allah’s leave.
All this occurred while ‘Uzair ‘alayhi salaam was watching, and this is when he proclaimed, “I know (now) that Allah is Able to do all things.”
in this ayah, when ‘Uzair ‘alayhi salaam questions Resurrection, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala shows him the truth. Why was Nimrod left to remain in his ignorance and ‘Uzair ‘alayhi salaam was guided? It is because ‘Uzair ‘alayhi salaam was a believer – he did not disbelief in Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
In a day, many thoughts enter our minds. Sometimes these are whisperings of Shaytan instilling doubt and fear in our hearts. If a person turns to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala, calling upon Him and asking for help (guidance), then Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala will guide the heart. He will show us the reality of things.
We ask Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to protect our hearts from deviation and doubts, and to always guide us to the path of the truth, ameen.
HAZRAT UZAIR A.S KA QISSA

Tauraat ko jannay aur hifz karny me un se koi agay na tha. Aur kaha jata hai k unho ne apnay Rab se taqdeer k mutaliq sawal kia tau Allah ne Anbiyah ki list se un ka naam mita dya tha.. (Wallah-Alam) Hazrat Uzair wohi shakhs hain, jiko Allah ne 100 years tak maray rakha, phir uthaya. Hazrat Uzair baray dana aur naik shakhs thay. Aik din apni zameen ki traf niklay, wapsi me aik veeranay me thehar gae, kioun k garmi sakht thi. Aap apny gadhay/ donkey pe sawar us veeranay me enter hue tau gadhay se utray, aur aap k sath khanay ka tokra tha, jis me Injeer aur angoor/ grapes thay. Aap is veeran khandar me ruk gae, phir apnay sath mojod pyala nikala aur grapes us pe nichoray, phir dry roti nikali aur isko usme daal dya ta k kuch narm aur meethi hojae tau khaa lain. Phir aap thori dair k lye seedhay lait gae. Aap ki nazr chatt ki traf uthi tau daikha k ye khandar apny pillars pe khara hai aur is k rehnay walay marr khap gae hain. Jin ki boseedah hadyan bikhri pari hain. Tau aap ki zaban se be-sakhta nikla: Translation: ” Allah kaisay in ko maut k baad zindah farmayega..?” Aap ko hargiz ye shak na tha k Allah inko zindah na farmayega. Bulkay us k tareekay O kefiyat per hairat karty hue farmaya tha k ye sab kaisay hoga… Phir Allah Ta’ala ne Hazrat Jibra’ael ko un k paas bheja. Aap ne Uzair A.S ki rooh qabz karli. Phir 100 years tak Allah ne un ko youn hi maut ki nend sulaye rakha.
ALLAH TA’ALA KA UZAIR A.S KO 100 YEARS BAAD DOBARA ZINDA KARNA
6:48 PMHazrat Uzair ko maut ki nend sotay hue 100 saal guzar gae. Is duran Bani Isra’ael me bht se waqia’at o hadsaat hue tau Allah ne aik farishtay ko Uzair k paas bheja. Farishtay ne Allah k hukm se aap k dil ko banaya, jo soch samjh k qabil hogya. Phir aankhoun ko bnaya jo daikhny k la’aiq hogaen, k aankhoun se daikh kar dil se samjh lain k kaisay Allah murdoun/ deads ko zinda farmayengay (because aap ny Allah se is k mutaliq sawal kia tha). Phir takhleeq/ creation start hue aur aap sath sath daikhty aur samjhtay ja rahy thay. Pehlay unki hadyoun /bones per gosht charha, phir baal ubhray aur khaal (skin) namodar hue, phir unme rooh phoonk di gae. Aap tamam manzir ko ba-khobi daikh rahy thay. Phir aap seedhay ho kr beth gae. Farisay ne pucha, kitna arsa soye? Farmaya, aik din, ya din ka kuch hissa (because aap din k start me aram ko laitay thay, aur ab sun set ho raha tha), tau farishtay ne kaha, Nahi bulkay aap 100 saal tak sotay rahy hain. Aap apna khana pani daikhye. Abhi tak dry roti dry thi. Angoor ka sheera, injeer aur angoor apni apni halat per barqarar thay. Phir aap k dil me is muddat k inkar ka khayal paida hua tau farishtay ny kaha, aap meri baat ko ghalat samjh rahy hain? Apny gadhay /donkey ki traf daikh lijiye. Daikha tau aap k gadhay ki hadyaan tak boseedah ho chuki thi aur bilkul banjar ho chuki thi. Tau farishtay ny hadyoun ko hukm dya aur wo har traf se jama ho kar uth uth kar aik jagah ikatha/ gather hogaen aur jur gaen. Aur Uzair daikhty rahy. Phir un per ragain/ veins charhi aur pathay (muscles) banay, phir gosht charha, phir un per skin aur baal tak aye. Phir farishtay ne us me phoonk mari tau gadha aasman ki traf apna sir aur kaan uthaye awazain nikalta hua khara hogya. Us ka khayal tha k shayad qayamat qa’aim ho chuki hai…. Subhan’Allah
