The Saudi Arabia came into existence in 1924, and before 1924 it was not Saudi Arabia, but it was just “Arabia”. Arabia had several provinces (regions) and each province was ruled by different Islamic empire. You can see in the below old Map of Arabia; Hejaz and Yemen regions (province) of Arabia were ruled by Ottoman Islamic Caliphate, but whereas the Najd region of Arabia was ruled by Sauds (Wahhabis) ruled. Area around the city of Riyadh is known as Najd region.
To fully understand the Islamic History, you should be able to locate the 3 regions Hejaz, Yemen and Najd in the below old map of Arabia. And make a note that both Holy cities Makkah and Madinah are in Hejaz region. Hejaz and Yemen are the main regions of Arabia because these regions were closely connected to the Holy Cities (Makkah and Madinah)
From the beginning of the Islamic Caliphate till the year 1922, both Hejaz and Yemen regions of Arabia were ruled by the Ottoman Islamic Caliphate. Whereas Sauds (Wahhabis) just ruled only the Najd region of Arabia, the Sauds wanted to occupy the whole of Arabia, that is they wanted to occupy even Hejaz as both Holy cities Makkah and Medina are in Hijaz region of Arabia. In 1916 the Sauds (Wahhabis) joined hands with British and started attacking both Hijaz and Yemen regions of Arabia.
The British supported Sauds (Wahhabis) because the British empire was always against Ottoman empire. Whenever British invaded any Muslim nation, then Ottomans went against the British force and always defeated British. British knew that till that time they don’t disintegrate (dissolve) the Ottoman empire internally, they won’t be able to rule the world.
So, to disintegrate (dissolve) Ottomans the British supported the Sauds, as Sauds (Wahhabis) were already against the Ottoman Sunni Islamic Caliphate. In simple words, to fight against the Ottoman Islamic Dynasty, the British took advantage of the local rebellion force (Sauds), the British supported the Sauds (Wahhabis) and gave them arms and cash to fight against the Ottoman Islamic Dynasty. Even today the same strategy is applied by enemies of Islam, they support local rebellion forces by giving arms and cash and wage and internal war within the country, to disintegrate (dissolve) the nation.
If we read the older history of Islam, we will know that in earlier times, there were only four schools of thought Hanafi, Maaliki, Shafi & Hambali, and all four of them belonged to Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (Sunni Jamaat), but there was no group as Wahabism (Ahle Hadith). But for the first time, Abdul Wahab Najdi started the Wahabi movement in alliance with Ibn Saud and established the first Wahhabi state in the Najd region in the year 1744.
Abdul Wahab was a hardliner with extremist ideology, if he didn’t like any person’s Amal (act) in Islam, he simply used to name that Amal as Shirk, Biddat, Haraam and Kufr and he used to name that person as kaafir or mushrik. This was the strategy adopted by Abdul Wahab to claim himself as the only Muslim, and to blame the rest of the Muslims around the world as mushriks or biddatis.
In earlier times, there was tolerance, even if Muslim groups had difference of opinion, they never blamed each other as kaafir’s, mushrik or biddatis. But it was Abdul Wahab who brought in such harsh terminology in Islam. And even today, people who follow Abdul Wahab’s teachings, follow the same strategy of they leader Abdul Wahab.
The saddest part of sauds (Wahhabis) is, they Wahabis joined hands with British to fight against Ottoman Islamic Sunni Caliphate, and in this way the Sauds (Wahhabis) occupied or invaded the main regions of Saudi Arabia (Hejaz and Yemen).

History of Jannatul Baqi & Jannatul Mualla Given Below
From the beginning of the Islamic Caliphate till the year 1922, both Hejaz and Yemen regions of Arabia were ruled by the Ottoman Islamic Caliphate. Whereas Sauds (Wahhabis) just ruled only the Najd region of Arabia, but the Sauds (Wahhabis) wanted to occupy the whole of Arabia, that is they wanted to occupy even Hejaz, as both Holy cities Makkah and Medina are in Hijaz region of Arabia.
In 1916 the Sauds (Wahhabis) started attacking even the holy cities of Makkah & Madinah and they started killing even the non-combatants (innocent people) of Makkah and Madinah, in the name of jihad. They even looted men and women, saying it is maal e ganimat (spoils of the war). This was the biggest blunder done by Suads (Wahabis).
This attack on the people of Makkah and Madinah was the biggest blunder of Sauds (Wahhabis). The ottomans did not expect that Sauds (Wahhabis) will get down to such a level, and they did not expect that Sauds (Wahhabis) will even kill and loot the innocent people from the Holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
At that moment Ottomans did not fight back, they dropped their weapons and gave up the war. The Ottomans had the strength to resist Sauds (Wahhabis), but they did not fight back, they gave up the war for the sake of people of Makkah and Madinah. Ottomans did not fight back because they didn’t want any bloodshed in Holy Cities of Makkah and Madinah.
Ottomans loved, and respected Holy Cities and they didn’t not want any bloodshed in Makkah and Madinah. Ottomans not only loved the people of Makkah and Madinah, but they even loved the trees of Madinah. It is believed that Ottomans loved the Madinah city so much, that they never cut even the trees of Madinah. This was the kind of love and affection Ottomans had with Makkah and Madinah.
By 1922 the Ottoman Islamic caliphate gave up the war and left Arabia and Ottomans mostly migrated to Turkey. This was the end of the Ottoman dynasty in Arabia. By 1924 the whole of Saudi Arabis was under the control of Sauds (Wahhabis) and in 1924, the Sauds changed the name of the country from Arabia to Saudi Arabia.
Jannatul Baqi is an area in Madinah, located very close to Masjid an-Nabawi ﷺ. In Jannatul Baqi, there were several shrines (Mazarat/Dargah) of Ahle Bayt and Sahaba Karaam, but all shrines were destroyed by Saudi government in the year 1925. The Jannatul Baqi also knows Garden of Baqi, had beautiful shrines but this area is now converted to just a plain cemetery (graveyard) by Saudi government.
Similarly, Jannatul Mualla is an area in Makkah, which is closer to Makkah Mukarramah. In Jannatul Mualla there were several shrines (Mazarat/Dargah) of Ahle Bayt and Sahaba Karaam, but even these beautiful shrines were destroyed by Saudi government in the year 1925 and now this area is just converted.
Now after 94 years, wahhabis confuse innocent Muslims by saying “ Look there is not even a single Mazaar (Dargha) in Saudi Arabia”, so why do you go to Mazaar or Dargha, you are doing Biddat ”. Listening to this, the innocent Muslim get confused and thinks, as Saudi Arabia is the main Muslim country so whatever is happening in Saudi Arabia is correct. The innocent Muslim gets confused because he does know the history of Saudi Arabia before 1924.
