Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) was born in Kandahar (Afghanistan) on 20 June 1831 in a respected Syed family and his Father’s name was Syed Mohammed Siddiq (R.A). Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) is Alhamdulillah one of the Farzand (Great Grandson) of Hazrat Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani (R.A) Baghdad.

Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) was a caretaker in the shrine of Hazrat Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (Gouse e Paak) for 30 years in Baghdad. Then later, Abdul Shakur (R.A) migrated from Baghdad Capital City to a very small village Tarbha in Odisha in the 1931. Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) migrated to Tarbha on the direct orders of Gouse e Azam Dastageer (R.A)

Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) is commonly known as Hazrat Tarbha Baba. Before Hazrat Tarbha Baba settled in village Tarbha, Tarbha was in a very remote area (very far) and there was no proper access to the village. Prior to his migration to Tarbha, people of Tarbha, used to suffer a lot because of black magic powers. But after Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) migrated from Baghdad to Tarbha, he fought against all the odds and destroyed all the black magic powers from the village.

Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) had the miraculous power given by Almighty Allah with which Tarbha Baba cured many incurable diseases of several patients. Patients with diseases like Cancer, Leprosy and many more incurable diseases were immediately cured by Hazrat Tarbha Baba. This is one of the greatest Karamat (Miracle) of Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A). Thousands of people from India and even foreign countries still visit Hazrat Tarbha baba and take his blessings.

In the Sufi order, Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) is very well known Awliya’Allah (friend of Allah), that during his reign even other Awliya Ikraam used to visit him from far away places. Almightly Allah has blessed him with so much mystic power that it is believed that sweat (aroma) was coming out of his blessed body even after he left this world.

And Allah Almightly has given him so much power that he once made a dead boy alive in front of everybody. People from Tarbha Village, still discuss about his several karamats (miracles) and because of Hazrat Tarbha Baba, many people refer the name of Tarbha Village with love and respect as Tarbha Shareef (Tarbha Sharif)

Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) performed Hajj for several times. Though he was a very rich man but he never lived a lavish life, he lived in a small house (hut) and prayed five times Namaz. He was very much particular about Namaz (Salah) and he always insisted people to pray five times Namaz (Salah). Later he built a grand mosque at Tarbha Sharif. Tarbha Baba is also very well known for his charitable works.

Many people believe he lived for 184 years but as per passport, he was 154 years old when he left this mundane world. He left this world in the year 1984 on March 16 (Friday) at 10:05 PM. Every year Urs Mubarak is celebrated in Tarbha Shareef, where Lakh’s of people of different religions (Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs) come and take the blessings of Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A)

People from all over the world love Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) and call him with various names. Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) is popularly known as Hazrat Tarbha Waale Baba (Tarbha Baba) or as Hazrat Fakeer Baba (Fakir Baba). His blessed full name is also written with respect as Al Quthub Ur Rabbani Hazrat Sayed Shah Abdus Shakoor Jilani (R.A).

People from Pakistan and Afghanistan call him Pathan baba or Khan baba or Kabuli baba because he is from Kandahar (Afghanistan). People from Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka call him with love and respect as Darba Appa or (Dharba Appa), Appa means elder brother.

People from different countries come and take the blessing of Hazrat Tarbha Baba. The Darbar (Tomb/Shrine) of Hazrat Syed Shah Abdul Shakur (R.A) is a symbol of Peace, Love and Harmony among the different religions. In the Sufi order, Hazrat Tarbha baba is Al Qutub Ur Rabbani urf Jilani and one of the greatest Awliya’Allah (friend of Allah) of the Indian subcontinent and his Darbar is commonly known as Tarbha Shareef (Tarba Sharif).

His Dargah Shareef (Tomb/Shrine) is located in Tarbha under Sonepur District, Odisha, India. Tarbha village is 30 km away from City Balangir. Trains are available only till Balangir, from Balangir you can take a Taxi or Auto

He also visited Egypt and returned to Medina passing through Palestine and from there went
to Mecca to perform the Hajj rites. Since he was indisposed many people of high status were
not in favour of his further travels but when he regained his health he went to Aden and again
returned to Mecca to participate in Hajj ceremony. He became grand restless. He remained for
two weeks in Medina and the other places of his grand ancestors. He remained for two weeks
in Medina and after Friday Prayers paid a farewell visit to the tombs of high spiritual leaders
and his grandsires with rears flowing from his eyes and heart yearning, kissed the last resting
place of Khatoon‐e‐Jannat (Lady of Heaven) and with heavy heart bidding goodbye returned to
the land of his nativity.
From Bombay, travelling via Ajmer he reached Deva Shareef in 1266 Hijrah (1853 A.D.) and
ennobled the name of Deva Shareef by his deeds of humanity and bounties of spiritual favour.
If is narrated he remained in the house of Daim Ali Shah attendant of Hazrat Haji Syed Qadeem
Ali Shah Sahib. It is also narrated he remained for some time in the house of Lady Rajan.
In short, our Saint spent fourteen years completely, travelling to the Holy shrine of Kaaba and
performed seven or according to tradition eleven Hajj. But other compilers of his biography
are not unanimous about the number of Hajj he performed. However it is not a case to debate
over a mere number but what is more important and significant is the devotional spirit, purity
of heart with which it is performed rather than the mere display adding the appellation of Haji
with one’s name.
It is also narrated that Daim Ali Shah Sahib who was his host at this time told our Saint’s
special devotees that he was likely to undertake another foreign travel. The news caused
consternation and dismay. In a body they went and told him they would not like to see him
travelling alone and would accompany him with their ladies and children, prepared to face any
sufferings either acute starvation or thirst. He said he was reluctant to cause unnecessary
suffering to ladies and children and further promised to confine his travels within the Indian
border.

“Aur shayaro ki pairwai behke hue log he karte hain”
“Kya tumne nahi dekha ke wo (shoara) har waadi-e(-khayal) me (yu he) sargarda phirte rehte hain (unhe haq me sachhi dilchaspi aur sanjidgi nahi hoti balki fakat lafzi aur fikri joulaniyo me mast aur khush rehte hain).”
“Aur ye ke wo (aisi baate) kehte hain jinhe khud karte nahi hain.”
“Siwaye un (Shoara) ke jo Imaan laaye aur nek amal karte rahe aur Allah ko kasrat se yaad karte rahe (yaani Allah aur Rasool SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam ke Madah-khwan ban gaye) aur apne upar zulm hone ke baad (zaalimo se ba-zabaan-e-sher) intekaam liya (aur apne kalaam ke zariye Islam aur mazlumo ka difa kiya balke unka josh badhaya to ye shayeri mazmoom nahi,) aur wo log jinhone zulm kiya an kareeb jaan lenge wo (marne ke baad) kaunsi palatne ki jagah palat ke jaate hain.”
Surah Shu’ara 26:224-227

Allah Ta’ala ne un shoara se dur rehne ko kaha jo sirf sher likhte hain lekin agar sher me kuch acha matlab bhi ho to bhi wo khud uspe amal nahi karte bus sher sunna sunana isi me mast rehte hain. Lekin phir Allah Ta’ala ne
un Shoara ki taarif ki apne sheron se Allah aur Uske Habib SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam aur Unke Deen ka difa karte hain. Aise shayaro ki Allah Ta’ala ne Apne Kaalam me taarif farmayi hai.
To wo saare mashhoor Shayar aur Naatkhwan, jaise Hazrat Hassan bin Sabit RadiAllahu Anhu, etc, ye to is list me hain he lekin in taarif kiye hue shoara ki list me sabse upar bhi to koi hoga jisne sabse pehle Sher ke zariye kuffar ke mu band kiye honge! To wo kaun hain? Wo Hazrat Abu Talib Alaihissalam hain. Aylan-e-Nabuwwat to Aaqa SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam ne 40 baras ki umr mubarak me farmaya lekin Hazrat Abu Talib Alaihissalam Aaqa SallAlahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam ki Shaan me Aapke Bachpan Mubarak se he Sher likhne lage! Imam Bukhari ne bhi jisko Sahih Bukhari me riwayat kiya hai:
“Wa Abyaza Us Taskal Gamaamu be Wajhihi
Simalul Yatama Ismatun Lil Ara-aamileen
Yaluzu bihil hullaku min Aal-e-Haashimin
Fahum Indahu fee Ni’amtin wa Fawazili.”
(Imam Bukhari, Sahih, 1/342, Hadees no. 963)
“Ay Safed Khoobsurat Gorey Chehre Waale, Ay Sufed Roshan Chehre Waale Habib, Aapki Zaat Itni Ba-Barkat hai ke Aapke Chehre ke Sadqe se badalo se barish li jaati hai! Aur Aap Yateemo ke fariyad ras hain Aur Aap Bewaao ki Ismad ke Muhafiz hain. Aur Banu Hashim ki bhuki pyasi halaqat me ghiri hui Aulad har waqt Aapko ghere rehti hai ke Unke liye Aap he Daman me Saari Naymate hain Saari Fazilaten hain”

Ye to Aaqa SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam ki Umr Mubarak abhi sirf 2 saal thi, tab itna khoobsurat sher likha unhone! Gaur karne ki baat hai!!
Aur phir Aylan-e-Nabuwwat ke baad jo kuch farmaya usme se chota sa hissa upar pe chapter me likh diya hai. Aur ek sher, jab kuffar ne Hazrat Abu Talib Alaihissalam se kaha ke Aap Apna Bhatija Muhammad hamare supurd karden aur badle me hamare kabile se jis jawan ko chahe apne paas rakhlen. To iske jawab me Aapne un kuffar se kaha:
“Aur ye log ye bhi kehte hain ke Mai (Apne Noor-e-Nazar) AHMAD(-e-Mujtaba SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam) ko to unke supurd kardun aur inke kisi farzand ki kafalat aur sarparasti karne lagun? Ba-Khuda ye kabhi nahi hosakega aur is raah me kisi malamat karne waale ki Mai parwah nahi karta.
Maine in logo ko saaf saaf bata diya hai ke ALLAH, JO MERA RAB HAI, Wohi Mera Madadgaar hai. Aur quraish me se koi bin gaalib (qabile) ki aulad me se jo shakhs bhi (Rasool-e-Khuda SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam ke khilaf) bagawat ka alam buland karega, Hum uska muqabla karenge aur Khuda Hamari madad karega.”

Aur ek jagah Aaqa SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam se Mukhatib hokar Aapne farmaya:
“Hum jaante hain ki AAP HE RASOOL-E-BARHAQ hain Jinhe Khuda Wand-e-Aalam ne Mab’oos bar-Risalat farmaya hai,
Aur us Rabb-e-Zuljalal ki Janib se Aap SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam par Kitab nazil hui hai.”

Aur ek jagah Aaqa SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam ki Shaan me farmaya:
“Wa Shaqqa Lahu Minis-me-hee Lee Yujillahu Fazul Arshi Mahmoodun wa Haza Muhammadun” “Allah Ta’ala ne Aap SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam ki Takreem ki khatir Aap SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam ka Naam Apne Naam se nikaala hai, Pas Arshwaala (Allah Ta’ala) Mahmood aur Ye (Habib) Muhammad Hain (SallAllahu Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Sallam).”

Aise bahot saari Imaan Afroz Sher Aapne likhe aur wo saare Sher “Deewan-e-Abu Talib Alaihissalam” kitab me milte hain jo ke Saudi Arabia me bhi print hoti thi aur Madina Tayyeba me milti thi. Ab waha production band hogaya hai lekin dusri jagaho pe aaj bhi print hoti hai.
