Hadiths about Helping and Cooperating Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam.

Hadiths about Helping and Cooperating Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam.

Sahaabas had strongly advised joining Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam. Some Hadiths concerning the favour of Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam (Manakib-e-Murtazavi), for whose help, a strong appeal had been made and an important chapter about whom opened, are presented below:

Hadith I: “O Allah kindly helps those who help Ali and bestow your grace upon those who cooperate with Ali.” (Kanzul Ummal. Vol. 6)

Hadith II:O Allah, kindly helps those who help Ali and avoid your blessings on those who do not help Ali. (Kanzul Ummal. Vol. 6)

Hadith III:Those who have left Ali have left me and those who have left me have left Allah.” (Kanzul Ummal. Vol. 6)

Hadith IV: There will be disturbances after me. When the facts come to surface, be with Ali Ibn-e-Abi Talib and support him very strongly, because, he is the one who rightly discriminates between right and wrong, truth and untruth and knows to keep a balance between them.”
(Kanzul Ummal. Vol 6)

Hadith V: “O Ali. The rebels will fight with you, and you will be on the right path. The person who does not support and help you is not in my group.” (Kanzul Ummal. VoL )

Hadith VI: The nights, during which Huzuriat provided training and education to the jinns, are the six nights, according to the scholars. About one of the nights, Hazrat Abdullah Ibn-e-Masa’ude says in Musnad-eAhmed, that he (Huzurs) took a cool sigh on which Hazrat Ibn-eMasa’ud Radiallahu anhoo requested him to explain. Huzur it’s reply is as under;

Ibn-e-Masa’ude:O’Rasulallah, how are you?

Huzur Nabi Pakﷺ:: I am informed about my demise.

Ibn-e-Masa’ud : Please appoint someone as a Caliph.Huzur : To whom?

Ibn-e-Masa’ud: To Hazrat Abu Bakri

Huzur Nabi Pakﷺ:: Kept quiet and after some time, took a cool sigh.

Ibn-e-Masa’ud After some time, looking to the prevailing circumstances and after receiving the message about demise, he was again requested to appoint someone as a Caliph.) Huzur: To whom?

Ibn-e-Masa’ud To Hazrat Umar

Huzur Nabi Pakﷺ: Kept quiet and after some time, had a cool sigh. Huzurst: To whom?

Ibn-e-Masa’ud: After some time. Looking to the prevailing circumstances and after receiving the message about demise, he was again requested to appoint someone as a Caliph.)

Ibn-e-Masa’ud: To Hazrat Ali

Huzur Nabi Pakﷺ:: On Allah’s oath, I say, if the people respected and honoured Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam they will be welcomed in heaven.

Following are the words of Hadith:

Translation: “By Allah, if the people respected and honoured Hazrat Ali they will be welcomed in heaven.

Hadith VII: On one occasion, Huzure talked about Hazrat Abu Bakr and prayed to Almighty, “Let the blessings and grace of Allah be on Abu Bakrien.” Describing Hazrat Umar and Hazrat Uthman, he repeated the same prayer. While talking about Hazrat Ali, he repeated the same prayer, but in addition to that, he said, “O’Allah, wherever Hazrat Ali goes, let the truth also go with him.” (Tirmizi Vol 2)

Think of this Hadith. Huzur it does not say, “Let Hazrat Ali also go where the truth goes.” But he says, “O’ Allah, let truth follow Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam wherever he goes.” The result of this sacred prayer was that Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam himself became the truth personified. All his works are in absolute parity with the truth. That is, the tasks were right because they were done by Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam. As the sun-light emerges from the Sun, the righteousness of the works was reflected out from Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam deeds. Shah Valiullah Mohaddith Dehlvihet Rehmatullah alaih has narrated this point at a sufficient length in “Aftafahimat-ul-Nahiyya.” This matter has been included in Shah Saahab’s creation under the title, “Ahl-e-bait Aayat-e-Tatahir” the title “Huzur’s holy family members are nearer to the innocence on their being sacred.”

The greatness of Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam was that the truth was with him, i.e. wherever he was; truth also was, inevitably, there. The truth emerged from his behaviour and acted in such a way as the Sunrays come out of the Sun. As the Sun is the centre of the solar system, Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam is the centre of truth. Hence, those who went against him, in fact, went against the truth. To discriminate between right and wrong, Ahl-e-Sunnat accepted Era of Murtazavi as a standard. The truth was with him, and one who was dominating him was on the wrong path. The intelligent and pious people of the community, sooner or later, could realize that truth was that which Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam said and they believed firmly that people who were not with him, were too far away from the truth.

The followers of religion and the Islamic theosophists have always said the same thing. And the Islamic philosophy also explains that “Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam and his companions were on the path of justice and the people who had risen as rebels against him, were the treacherous people.”
(Shami Vol. 3)

Imam Jamaluddin Abdullah Ibn-e-Yusuf Zeil Nasburrayas writes in Vol3:

Translation: The prayer leader of Holy Ka’aba (Imam-ul-Haramein) had said in the book of Allah’s orders (Kitab-ul-Irshad) that Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam the right path in performing his duty of Caliphate and those who protested him, were the rebels. Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam was unanimously appointed as a Caliph, and he was right in fighting with the army on camels. Hazrat Ayesha SalamUllahAlaiha Hazrat Talha Radiallahu anhoo, Hazrat Zubeir Radiallahu anhooand their companions the people of the army on the camels (Ahl-e-Jamal). Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam was right in fighting the battle of Ahl-e-Siffin. Ahl-e-Siffin was the army of Tualqa Muavia and his supporters.

Hadith VIII: One of the favourite chiefs of Quraish, Suhel Ibn-e-Umro, came to Huzur ﷺ and said, “Some of our slaves, who have no religious attitude, have been brought by you. Return them to us.” On hearing this, Hazrat Abu Bakr Radiallahu anhoo and Hazrat Umar Radiallahu anhoo requested, “Ya Rasulallah ﷺ, what he says is a fact. They are Suhel Ibn-e-Umro, etc.’s slaves.” On this, Huzur ﷺ said,

Translation: “O group of Quraish, you will never leave your false and wrong ways of life. Allah, the Almighty will raise a person for permanent placement whose heart has been checked from the point of view of faith. He will cut your throats, and you will run away like the sheep and goats.” On this, Hazrat Abu Bakr said, “O Rasulallah, Is that person me?” He said, “No.” On this, Hazrat Umar said, “O Rasulallah ﷺ Is that person me?” He said, “No. It is he who mends my shoes.” The narrator states, “At that time, Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam was mending Huzur ﷺ shoes.”

This Hadith brings the fact in light that Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam whenever and wherever fought with the rebels during the period of his Caliphate, it was strictly in accordance with the wishes and orders of Huzur ﷺ . Those who created dispute on this were, in fact, creating disputes on Huzur ﷺ intention will and wish. In addition to Huzur ﷺ wish, the Holy Quran also says that the believers should fight with the rebels. If one group of the people oppresses/fight the other group, then fight against the one that oppresses until it returns to the ordinance of Allah (means unless they leave their mutinous behaviour).

Allama Abu Albarkaat Abdullah Nasafi (author of Kanzul Daqaik, Alminar) who is a great Muj’tahid(cleric), intellect and scholiast of Hanafi philosophical author of Mo’allif Kanzul da Qaik, writes about this Quranic verses in his commentary on “Madarik ul tanzil”, “For the rebels, the holy order is that the righteous should fight against them till they fight. But when they stop the fight, the righteous should stop fighting.”

This detailed discussion shows that the crusades that were fought by Saiyed Ali Murtuzan AlaihisSalam against the non-believers were just the implementation of the Almighty’s commandments and, according to the Holy Quran; it was his cardinal duty to do so.

In fact, this was one of the interpretations of the following Hadith:Translation: “Mostly after me (my life), there will be a mutiny. When it comes on the surface, join Hazrat Ali Ibn-e-Talib AlahisSalam, because he is the one who can discriminate between truth and untruth.” Once, Banu Abs told Hazrat Huzaifa “Amir-ul-Mominin, Hazrat Uthman has been killed. Now, what is your order for us?” Hazrat Huzaifa said, “Jealousy has finished the jealous people. You people have aversion for Hazrat Ammar Radiallahu anhoo only because he has proximity/nearness with Hazrat. Ali AlaihisSalam. On Allah’s oath, I declare that Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam eminence from Hazrat Ammar much more than the distance between the earth and the sky and the clouds. In fact, Ammar is one of the best people.” an The narrator narrates, “Huzur ﷺ has instructed to be with Hazrat Ammar Radiallahu anhoo because, he knew it very well that, if the people be with Ammar, they will be with Hazrat Ali AlaihisSalam.”
