Punishment of Sodomy

Once Khalid bin Valeed wrote to Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) that there was a man who was in the habit of getting the act of Sodomy committed on him (the man). Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) who was the caliph then asked for Hazrat Ali (A)’s advice in the matter saying that the Arabs viewed the cutting of a person into pieces a very bad thing. Hazrat Ali (A) advised that the man in question should be burnt to death. The punishment was arried out accordingly. (Arjahul Matalib, p 126). –

Similary during the caliphate of Hazrat Omar (RA) two men were seen committing the act of sodomy. When apprehended, one of them ran away, but the other was caught and brought to the court of the caliph.

Hazrat Omar (RA) when sought advice of the people in the matter, . All proposed different punishments to be awarded to the accused. Hazrat Omar (RA) then turned to Hazrat Ali (A) and asked for his advice in deciding the case according to the divine law. Hazrat Ali (A) advised the caliph to behead the man. When the punishment was carried out according to the advice of Hazrat Ali (A) and under the orders of Hazrat Omar (RA) and the body of the accused was being carried away, Hazrat Ali (A) stopped the people and said that there was another punishment yet which was to be awarded to the man who had committed such a serious crime. He then ordered the people to collect fire-wood and burn the dead body of the man.. The orders of Hazrat Ali (A) were accordingly carried out with the consent of the then caliph, Hazrat Omar (RA). (Wafi, vol. 9, p. 51).

Hazra Imam Sadiq (A) has said:

“None from among men, who considers sodomy a correct action and having religious sanction, passes his life on earth without being hit by one of the stones from Allah by which He hit the nation of Lot, and he dies of it, but the people do not see it.”

(Qasasul Ambia, p. 162).

Sarkar Waris was an embodiment of patience. He always bows his head before the will of God. He never complaints in any circumstances and trusted God Infinitely. The devotees have often heard our Saint declare “patience is privileged shar only of Bibi Fatimz-Zohra and Husnain patience is an inseparable part of Ahle-Baiyat”, and in this same connection he would also say: patience and forbearance is the slave girl of the house of Ahle-Baiyat”, He also said, “the dignity of patience and forbearance was given to Bibi Fatima from her father and through the medium of Hussain is given to others as their share to whomsoever it is destined. To step into the plain of patience is very difficult and the job only of the spiritually strong. It is easier to give up one’s life for the goal of patience to utter even a word of complaint is against the dignity of it. Who ever the narrow streets of patients and forbearance, he loses his authority. There is no arrangement in the way and manner of patience”. He also declared “There is a difference between the school of thought of patience and the Sufi approach to it. For the love of God Hazrat Imam Hussein martyred his entire family on the plain of Karbala. Can anyone understand it? It is a secret only between the lover and the beloved” Sarkar also said. “Our way of life is love. There is no arrangement and one always bows down to the will of god. Patience is the fruit of love.”

Seeing his merciful gesture they desired to become his disciples and he fulfilled their desire. Thus resigning to the will of god was his ideal and submission to the power of creator, his ultimate goal of life. His praiseworthy qualities, his special relationship with his habit of complete resignation to the will of god along with the incidents of 1220 Hijrah one can know his fortitude and disciplined life.

The Prophet Muhammad strove for social cohesion. ‘Abd Allāh b. Salām, who was a Jewish Rabbi, recounts the anecdote of the first time he saw the Prophet. Recounting this moment, he said: “When the Messenger of God – peace and blessings be upon him came to Medina, the people rushed towards him and it was said, “The Messenger of God has come!” I came along with the people to see him, and when I looked at the face of the Messenger of God, I realised that his face was not the face of a liar. The first thing he said was: “O people, spread peace, feed the hungry, and pray at night when people are sleeping, you will enter Paradise in peace. ” I

सैयद से मिसाली मुहब्बत

आशिके रसूल मौलाना गुलाम रसूले आलम पुरी जिला होशियार पुर (इण्डिया) के दुरवेश और साहिबे तसानीफ बुजुर्ग थे। 1892 को इंतिक़ाल किया और वहीं आलमपुर में मदफन हैं। उनके मुतअल्लिक एक वाक्या है किः मौलाना नाले के एक किनारे पर खड़े थे दूसरे किनारे पर एक लड़का खड़ा था। आपने आवाज़ देकर उसे पूछा। लड़के पानी कितना गहरा है? वह न बोले । शायद उसने सुना नहीं था।

आपने फिर आवाज़ दी। लड़के तू कौन है, बोलते क्यों नहीं।” उसने कहा: “मैं सैयद हूँ।” आप जार ज़ार रोने लगे कि सख़्त बेअदबी हो गई। अब इस सैयद जादे से इसरार करने लगे कि तुम मुझे कहो “ओ गूजर कितना पानी है।” लेकिन वह न कहते थे। आप ज़ार ज़ार रो रहे थे और कह रहे थे कि तुम मुझे ओ गूजर कहो । आखिर लोग जमा हो गए और सैयद जादे को मजबूर किया सैयद जादे ने कहा “ओ गूजर कितना पानी है। ” मौलाना ने जवाब दिया: हुज़ूर पार कर के बताता हूँ।” चुनान्चे आप पानी से गुज़र कर दूसरी जानिब गए और साहबजादे को कंधों पर उठा कर नाले की उस जानिब ले आए। वह साहबजादा यतीम था। आपने उसे पढ़ाया, अपने पास रखा और बाद में मोज़ा मालवे में उसे पटवारी की नौकरी दिलवा दी। उसकी शादी भी करा दी। (औलियाए जालंधर स. 101 )
