THE BEST NEIGHBOUR
” I The Prophet Muhammad did not just teach his followers to be good to their friends and family, but he also taught the rights of neighbours. On one occasion, he said, “By God, he is not a believer; by God, he is not a believer; by God, he is not a believer, one whose neighbours are not secure from his harm.’
The Prophet did not discriminate between any of his neighbours, even if they were not Muslims and they did not believe in him. He looked after his neighbours and he enjoined the Muslims to look after their neighbours saying, “He is not a believer who spends the night satiated to his full whilst knowing that his neighbour goes to sleep hungry.”2
