Significance of Sayyids

Saadats and Sayyid are the people who are the descendants of Hazrat Imam Hassan AlahisSalam and Hazrat Imam Hussain AlahisSalam With reference to Sahih Bukhari’s hadith, it is narrated from Hazrat Abu Zar Ghaffari that once Huzur Akram ﷺhas said that, “the person who associates his lineage (other than his ancestry) is committing infidelity (kufr) (reaching the limit of infidelity). And whoever claims this, he is out of my jamaat should make his abode a hell.” Therefore, if he is not one of the descendants of Hazrat Imam Hasan and Hazrat Imam Hussain , he should be careful about being known as Sayyid and changing his lineage, otherwise, he will have to repent on the day of Resurrection. Wali, Aqtab, Abdal, Najba’, Naqba’, Ghaus, Fard, Majzoub, Makhdoom, Qalandar, Qutub-ul-Aqtab, Qutub-ul-Irshad are all different stages of the Wilayat, Qutbiat, Abdaliat, Ghausiat, Fardiat that is the bifurcation of Islamic mysticism and by the grace of Allah, any person who austerely follows the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet and laid the foundation of his life on the love of the Holy Prophetﷺ will be able to meet the above stages by continuous mystic and religious exercises. But the privilege prominence which the descendants of the Holy Prophet ﷺenjoys due to the essence and the blood of the Messenger of Allah the Prophetﷺ, can never be attained by any non-Sayyid Even if the Qutub of the time is there, he still must respect descendant/Ahl-e-bait of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, even if the Aale Rasul is not designated with any of the stages.

Reading about the life and teachings of different Sufis and saints which include maktub, malfuzat and different spiritual works, and to propagate a message of Quran and Sunnah enables people to achieve the reward, and enhance their personality spiritually according to their capabilities. Creating hindrances in the propagation of Islam will be considered as a sin. May! Allah forgives us for doing so, Ameen

Rather, it is through the different groups that you are to know one another and recognize each other (186). The secret behind this branching out (of humanity) is simply for attaining knowledge and recognition of one another and merely being attached to one family, but this should never be the basis and criteria for claiming superiority over another.

د والث Muslims have always extended the love and affection they feel for the Prophet feit to the sayyids. Due to their deep love for the Prophet’s family, Muslims have always held the descendants of his grandchildren in the highest regard. Sayyids have enjoyed a privileged position in worldly treatment in almost all Islamic countries, and efforts have been made to bestow various advantages on them.

In the age of four rightly Guided Caliphs (Khulafa-e-Rashideen), Muslims travelled to many lands to spread the message of Islamic moral perspects. During this time Sahabah and Tabaeen other than the descendants of Prophets used to go to different parts of the world but after the incident of Karbala and then during the tyrannical rule of Banu Ummayya and Banu Abbas there were many Sayyids who migrated because of different reasons but there are also among those who set out to spread the Qur’an’s moral values to humanity. They generally settled in the regions to which they travelled and assimilated with the local inhabitants.

However, like other Muslim emigrants, the great majority of the Sayyids who emigrated left Arabia because of the strict policies of the Umayyads, who assumed power after the age of the Khilafat-e-Rashida. Following the martyrdom of Sayyiduna Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain , their migration accelerated still further, to places within the Islamic state’s borders of the time : the Maghreb (Morocco), the Caucasus, Transoxiana, Khurasan, Tabaristan, and Yemen. Thanks to this migration, many dynasties were founded, such as the Idrisids in Morocco, the Sulaymanis in Yemen and the Zaydis in Iran.

Many Sayyids took up residence in the Mongol and Turkish states and assimilated with the local peoples. Sometimes they even took their places among the founder of other states, such as the Nogay dynasty, which establish itself in the Caucasus. Later on these migration countries and so many families of Sayyids migrated to Persian Asian lands and settled down there, this includes: Iran, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, India and Malaysia.

May Allah Subhana’huwa Ta’ala bless all of us with true knowledge and understanding
