According to Amr b. Akhtab :
“Allah’s Messenger led us in the ritual prayer of dawn.
He ascended on the pulpit and addressed until the time of midday
ritual prayer arrived, so He descended from the pulpit and
performed the ritual prayer. Then He ascended on the pulpit and
addressed until the time of the afternoon prayer arrived, so He
descended from the pulpit and performed the ritual prayer. Then
He ascended on the pulpit and addressed until the sun set. He
thus informed us of whatever had taken place and what will take
place till the Day of Resurrection. The most knowledgeable
person among us is the one who retains in memory the most.”
