AYAT-E-SALAAM
In Surah As Saffaat, verse 130, the Holy Qur’an states:
سَلَمُ عَلَى إِلْ يَاسِينَ )
“Peace be upon Elyas.”
Hadrat Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas Radi Allahu ‘Anhuma states that, “This is actually Salaamunala Il Yaseen and the Ale Yaseen is the family of the Holy Prophet Sallal Laahu ‘Alayhi Wasallam.” (Durre Mansur).
Some of the eminent Saints have recited this as “Ale Yaseen” because one of the names of the Holy Prophet Sallal Laahu ‘Alayhi Wasallam is also “Yaseen”.
Allama ibn Hajr Makki Radi Allahu Anhu explains, “Many of the eminent Mufassireen have recorded the words of Hadrat Sayyiduna ibn Abbas Radi Allahu ‘Anhuma and have stated that by Ale Yaseen is meant the children of the Holy Prophet Sallal Laahu ‘Alayhi Wasallam.”
