Multi-Star System

Planet orbiting multiple stars.

1400 years ago people thought that there is just one sunrise and one sunset. Nobody believed that there are planets with multiple sunrises and multiple sunsets. Today we know that this is false. NASA discovered a planet having three sunrises and three sunsets.

Newly-Discovered Planet Has 3 Suns
If you thought Luke Skywalker’s home planet, Tatooine, was a strange world with its two suns in the sky, imagine this: a planet with either constant daylight or triple sunrises and sunsets each day depending on the seasons (which last longer than human lifetimes). Such a world has been discovered by a team of astronomers led by the University of Arizona using direct imaging. The planet, HD 131399Ab, is unlike any other known world – one with, by far, the widest known orbit within a multi-star system…
NASA, Newly-Discovered Planet Has 3 Suns, 2016

Planets orbiting one star like Earth are very common. Planets orbiting a binary star system (2 stars) are less common. But now NASA discovered a planet orbiting 3 stars. This means if you are standing on that planet you will have 3 shadows, one shadow from each sun. This was known recently; however this was portrayed in the Quran 1400 years before it was discovered. While describing Hell:

[Quran 77:30-31] Proceed to a shadow of three branches. No shade, and no protection from the flames.

Shadow of three branches” means it has three suns, one shadow from each sun. This is a triple-star system.

[Quran 70:40] I swear by the Lord of the sunrises and the sunsets, that We are able…

“Mashreq مَشَرِقِ” means single sunrise. “Mashreqain مَشْرِقَيْنِ” means double sunrises. In this verse “Mashareq مَشَارِقِ” means multiple sunrises (3 or more). Today we know what it is, it is multi-star system.

Weight Of Clouds

Average cloud weighs a million pounds.

1400 years ago people thought that clouds are weightless. Today we know this is false. Clouds turned-out to be very heavy.

How much does a cloud weigh?
Do you think clouds have any weight? How can they, if they are floating in the air like a balloon filled with helium? If you tie a helium balloon to a kitchen scale it won’t register any weight, so why should a cloud?…
Doing the math: 1,000,000,000 x 0.5 = 500,000,000 grams of water droplets in our cloud. That is about 500,000 kilograms or 1.1 million pounds (about 551 tons).
US Geological Survey, The Atmosphere and the Water Cycle, 2019

So the clouds turned-out to be very heavy. Average cloud above your head weighs about 100 elephants. This was known recently, however this was portrayed in the Quran 1400 years before it was discovered.

[Quran 13:12] It is He who shows you the lightening, causing fear and hope. And He produces the heavy clouds.

“Thikal ثِّقَالَ” means heavy. Here the clouds have weight. Today we know that clouds are not weightless as previously thought but rather very heavy.
