■ What Wisdom is Hidden in the Concept of Focusing on the Shaykh (Spiritual Guide)?

In the words of Khawaja Banda Nawaz, imagining the presence of the Shaykh (Murshid) carries significant wisdom. A person finds it difficult to imagine something they haven’t seen before. Since the Shaykh is a familiar face to the Mureed, it is easy to visualize them, which leads to focus and calmness of the heart. This focused state allows the Mureed to progress spiritually more easily. While the same level of concentration can be achieved through meditation (muraqabah), the unique benefit of focusing on the Shaykh is that the Mureed feels as if they are constantly in the presence of their Shaykh, leading to a powerful connection between their hearts.

When the Mureed imagines themselves in the presence of the Shaykh, their hearts align. This alignment allows the Mureed to receive spiritual blessings (faiz) from the Shaykh’s heart, even to the point where the Mureed may attain in a short time what the Mureed achieved through years of spiritual struggle and effort.

This connection can be compared to sunlight reflecting off water. When there is a wall in front of the water, the light still passes through and reflects off the wall. In the same way, the spiritual reflection from the Murshid reaches the disciple’s heart, helping them achieve spiritual insights quickly.

Khawaja Banda Nawaz further explains that focusing on the Shaykh’s presence or imagining oneself in front of the Shaykh’s heart is a method reserved for the fortunate. It is not just a matter of outward actions but an inner, deeply spiritual practice.

In the world of Sufism, the term “mushahida” (spiritual observation) refers to the disciple seeing the essence of Allah ﷻ through the manifestations of His names and attributes. This is a deeper level of spiritual realization, where one feels truly present with Allah ﷻ through the guidance of the Sheikh.

The wisdom in focusing on the Sheikh lies in the heart-to-heart transmission of spiritual states and the ease with which a disciple can achieve spiritual growth through the connection to their guide.

अलमदारे करबला हज़रते अब्बास (अ.स.) की शहादत

इन बनी हाशिम के बहादुर नौनिहालो की शहादत के बाद हज़रते अब्बास (अ.स.) अलमदार मैदान में हुसूले आब के लिये तशरीफ़ लाए और कारे नुमायां कर के शहीद हो गए। आपके तफ़सीली हालात के लिये मुलाहेज़ा हो किताबे जिकरूल अब्बास 1 मोवल्लेफ़ा नजमुल हसन करारवी, मतबुआ लाहौर ।

आपके मुख़्तसर हालात

यह हैं कि आप 4 शाबान 26 हिजरी मुताबिक़ 18 मई 647 ई0 यौमे सह शम्बा को मदीना ए मुनव्वरा में पैदा हुए। आप इमाम हुसैन (अ.स.) के मुस्तक़िल अलमबरदार थे। आपको करबला में जंग करने की इजाज़त नहीं दी गई सिर्फ़ पानी लाने का हुक्म दिया गया था। आप कमाले वफ़ादारी की वजह से नहरे फ़ुरात में दाखिल हो कर प्यासे बरामद गए थे। आपका दाहिना हाथ खेमे में पानी पहुँचाने की सई में जैद इब्ने वरका की तलवार से कट गया था, और बायां हाथ हकीम इब्ने तुफ़ैल की तलवार से कटा, फिर एक तीर मशकीज़े पर लगा और सारी पानी बह गया। फिर एक तीर आपके सीने में लगा। इसके बाद लौहे का गुर्ज़ सर पर पड़ा और आप ज़मीन पर आ गए। आपने इमामा हुसैन (अ.स.) को आवाज़ दी, इमाम हुसैन (अ.स.) ने कमर थाम कर आवाज़ दी अलाअन अन कसरा ज़हरी हाय मेरी कमर टूट गई। आपका लक़ब सक़्क़ा और कुन्नियत अबू फ़ज़ल थी। आप “
भी यौमे आशूरा शहीद हो गए। आपकी तारीख़े शहादत मौलाना रोम ने मिसरा सर दीं रा बुरीद बेदीने चन्द माह थी। ” 66 से निकाली है। शहादत के वक़्त आपकी उम्र 34 साल

1. कराची के एक मौलवी साहब ने अपने एक रिसाले में जो हज़रत अब्बास (अ.स.) के हालात पर मुश्तमिल है जिकरुल अब्बास पर बे सरो पा एतराज़ात किए हैं हम उनके साठ साल से उपर हो जाने की वजह से उनके एतराज़ात का जवाब देना पसन्द नहीं करते।

हज़रत अली अकबर (अ.स.) की शहादत

हज़रत अब्बास (अ.स.) की शहादत के बाद हज़रत अली अकबर (अ.स.) ने इज़्ने जिहाद की सई बलीग़ की। बिल आखिर आप कामयाब हो कर मैदाने करबला में तशरीफ़ लाए। आपको इमाम हुसैन (अ. स.) ने अपने हाथों से आरास्ता किया, हज़रत अली (अ.स.) की तलवार हिमाएल की ज़िरह पहनाई और पैग़म्बरे इस्लाम की सवारी के घोड़े पर सवार फ़रमाया जिसका नाम उक़ाब या मुरतजिज़ था। आपकी रवानगी के वक़्त इमाम हुसैन (अ.स.) ने बारगाहे अहदियत में हाथों को बुलन्द कर के कहा मेरे पालने वाले अब तेरी राह में मेरा वह फ़रज़न्द कुरबान होने जा रहा है जो सूरत और सीरत में तेरे रसूल (स.व.व.अ.) से बहुत मुशाबेह है। मेरे मौला जब मैं नाना की ज़ियारत का मुश्ताक़ होता था तो इसकी सूरत देख
लिया करता था, मालिक इसकी तू ही मदद फ़रमाना उलमा ने लिखा है कि मैदान में पहुँचने के बाद हज़रत अली अकबर ने रजज़ पढ़ी और मुक़ाबला शुरू हो गया और ऐसी ज़बरदस्त जंग हुई कि दुश्मनों के दांतों पसीने आ गए। सफ़े की सधैं उलट गईं। एक सौ बीस दुश्मन फ़िन्नार वस सक़र हो गए। हज़रत अली अकबर (अ.स.) जो तीन दिन के भूखे और प्यासे थे बाप की खिदमत में हाज़िर हुए और अर्ज़ की बाबा जान, प्यास मारे डालती है, पानी की कोई सबील कर दीजिए। इमाम हुसैन (अ.स.) के पास पानी कहां था जो ज़ख़्मों से चूर अली अकबर जैसे बेटे की आख़री ख़्वाहिश पूरी फ़रमाते। आपने कहा बेटा पानी तो थोड़ी ही देर में नाना जान पिलायेंगे अलबत्ता अपनी ज़बान मेरे मुंह में दे दो। अली अकबर ने बेचैनी में अपनी ज़बान तो मुंह में दे दी लेकिन फ़ौरन ही खेंच ली और कहा बाबा जान लिसानाका ऐबस मन लस्सानी आपकी ज़बान तो मेरी ज़बान ” से भी ज़्यादा ख़ुश्क़ है फिर इमाम हुसैन (अ. स.) ने रसूले करीम ( स.व.व.अ.) की एक अंगूठी अली अकबर (अ.स.) के मुंह मे दी और फ़रमाया बेटा जाओ ख़ुदा हाफ़िज़।

हज़रत अली अकबर (अ. स.) दोबारा मैदान में पहुँचे तारिक़ इब्ने शीस जिससे उमरे साद ने हुकूमते ” रै” और “ का वायदा किया था अली अकबर और ” मूसल ” (अ.स.) के मुक़ाबले में आ गया। आपने कमाले जवां मरदी से इस पर नैज़े का वार किया नैज़ा उसके सीने पर लग कर पुश्त में से दो बालिश्त बाहर निकल गया । ।
इसके मरते ही उसका बेटा उमर तारिक़ मैदान में आ गया। आपने उसे भी क़त्ल कर दिया। फिर तल्हा इब्ने तारिक़ सामने आया आपने इसका गरेबान पकड़ कर उसे पछाड़ दिया। यह देख कर उमरे साद ने मिसला इब्ने ग़ालिब को मुक़ाबले का हुक्म दिया वह अली अकबर (अ.स.) के सामने आ कर दो टुकड़े हो गया। उसके क़त्ल होने से हल चल मच गई। उमरे साद ने मोहकम इब्ने तुफ़ैल… और इब्ने नौफ़िल को दो हज़ार सवारों के साथ अली अकबर (अ. स.) पर हमला करने का हुक्म दिया। अली अकबर (अ. स.) ने निहायत दिलेरी से हमले का जवाब दिया और प्यास से बेचैन हो कर इमाम हुसैन (अ.स.) की खिदमत में फिर हाज़िर हुए और पानी का सवाल किया, आपने फ़रमाया बेटा अब तुम्हें साक़ीए कौसर ही सेराब करेंगे। नूरे नज़र जाने पदर जल्द जाओ, रसूले करीम (स.अ.व.व.) इन्तेज़ार फ़रमा रहे हैं। हज़रत अली अकबर (अ. स.) मैदान में वापस आए। दुश्मनों ने यूरिश कर दी, आपने शेरे गुरिसना की तरह हमले किये और थोड़ी ही देर में अस्सी दुश्मनों को क़त्ल कर डाला।

बिल आखिर मुनकज़ बिन मुर्रा अब्दी और इब्ने नमीर ने सीने मे नैज़ा मारा। आपके हाथ से ऐनाने सिपर छूट गई और आप घोड़े की गिरदन से लिपट गए। घोड़ा जिस तरफ़ से गुज़रता था आपके जिस्म पर तलवारें लगती थीं। यहां तक कि आपका जिस्म पारा पारा हो गया। आपने आवाज़ दी या अबाताहो अदरिकनी ” ” बाबा जान ख़बर लिजिए । इमाम हुसैन (अ. स.) दौड़ कर पहुँचे लेकिन आप से पहले हज़रत ज़ैनब पहुँच गईं। उलेमा ने लिखा है कि ज़ैनब ने वहां पहुँच कर अपने को अली अकबर पर गिरा दिया था। इमाम हुसैन (अ.स.) ने उन्हें ख़ेमे में पहुँचाया और अली अकबर के चेहरे से ख़ून साफ़ किया और कहा कि ऐ बेटे तेरे बाद इस ज़िन्दगानीए दुनिया पर ख़ाक है फिर आपने अली अकबर को ख़ेमे में ले जाने की कोशिश की लेकिन हर क़िस्म के ज़ौफ़ ने कामयाब न होने दिया, बिल आखिर बच्चों को आवाज़ दी, बच्चों आओ मेरी मद्द करो। चुनान्चे बच्चों की इमदाद से अली अकबर का लाशा ख़ेमे के क़रीब लाया गया और मुख़द्देराते असमत मे कोहरामे अज़ीम बरपा हो गया। रौज़तुल शोहदा पृष्ठ 368, कशफ़ुल ग़म्मा पृष्ठ 75 अबसारूल ऐन पृष्ठ 34, अल्लामा समावी लिखते हैं कि हज़रत अली अकबर का असली नाम अली लक़ब अकबर और कुन्नियत अबुल हसन थी । आपकी उम्र शहादत के वक़्त 18 साल थी । ( नूरूल ऐन तरजुमा अबसारूल ऐन पृष्ठ 34)

हज़रत अली असग़र (अ.स.) की शहादत

अल्लामा अरबली लिखते हैं कि जब इमाम हुसैन (अ.स.) बे यारो मद्दगार हो गए तो आप ख़ुद बा क़स्दे शहादत मैदान के लिये चले और वहां पहुँच कर आपने ” ” हल मिन नासेरिन यनसेरना की आवाज़ बलन्द की। जिनों के एक गिरोहे अज़ीम ने सआदते नुसरत हासिल करने की ख़्वाहिश की आपने उन्हें दुआ ए ख़ैर से याद फ़रमाया और नुसरत क़ुबूल करने से यह कहते हुए इनकार कर दिया कि मुझे शरफ़ शहादत हासिल करना है और मैंने आवाज़े इस्तेग़ासा इतमामे हुज्जत के लिये बुलन्द किया है। मेरा मक़सद यह है कि दुश्मनाने ख़ुदा व रसूल (स.व.व.अ.) के लिये मेरी मद्द न करने का कोई बहाना बाक़ी न रहे। अभी आप जिनों से बाते कर रहे थे कि नागाह हज़रत इमाम ज़ैनुल आबेदीन (अ. स.) अपनी कमाले अलालत के बा वजूद एक असा लिये हुए खेमे से बाहर निकल आए। इमाम हुसैन (अ. स.) ने जनाबे उम्मे कुलसूम को आवाज़ दी, बहन फ़ौरन आबिदे बिमार को रोको, कहीं ऐसा न हो कि सादात का सिलसिला ए नसल व नस्ब ही ख़त्म हो जाए। सय्यदुश शोहदा ने आवाज़े इस्तेग़ासा का असर जब अपने खेमों के बाशिन्दों पर देखा तो फ़ौरन वापस तशरीफ़ ला कर सबको समझाया और अपनी मौत का हवाला दे कर इसरारे इमामत इमाम ज़ैनुल आबेदीन (अ.स.) के सिपुर्द फ़रमाया। आप रवाना होना ही चाहते थे कि बा रवायत जनाबे सकीना घोड़े के सुम से लिपट गईं। इमाम हुसैन (अ.स.) ने सीने से लगाया, रूख़सार का बोसा दिया, सब्र की तलक़ीन की और जनाबे ज़ैनब को सकीना की निगाह दाश्त की हिदायत फ़रमाई। उसके बाद हज़रत अली असग़र को जिन्होंने अपने को झूले से गिरा दिया था इमाम हुसैन (अ. स.) ने बढ़ कर अपनी आगोश में लिया और मक़तल की तरफ़ रवाना हो गये । मैदान मे पहुँच कर आप एक टीले पर बुलन्द हुए और आपने क़ौमे अशक़िया

को मुख़ातिब कर के कहा कि देखो मैं अपने छ महीने के बच्चे को पानी पिलाने लाया हूँ। इसकी माँ का दूध ख़ुश्क हो गया और इसकी ज़बान सूख गई है, ख़ुदारा ” इसे पानी पिला कर इसकी जान बचा लो, और सुनो अगर मैं तुम्हारें जौमे नाक़िस में गुनाहगार हो सकता हूँ तो मेरे इस मासूम बच्चे में गुनाह की सलाहियत नहीं हैं। यह तो बे ख़ता है इस सदाए पुर तासीर का असर यह हुआ कि लशकर का मिजाज़ बिगड़ने लगा, शक़ीउल कल्ब लशकरी रो पड़े। उमरे साद ने जब यह देखा तो फ़ौरन हुरमुला इब्ने काहिल अज़दी को हुक्म दिया, ” अक़ता कलामुल हुसैन हुसैन के कलाम को नोके तीर से क़ता कर दे। हुरमुला ने तीरे सेह शोबा चिल्लाए कमान में जोड़ा और अली असग़र के गले की तरफ़ फेंका। तीर जो ज़हर से बुझा हुआ था अली असग़र के गले पर लगा और उसने अली असग़र के गले के साथ साथ इमाम हुसैन (अ.स.) का बाज़ू भी छेद दिया। इमाम हुसैन (अ.स.) ने बच्चे को सीने से लगा कर उसके ख़ून से चुल्लू भर लिया और चाहा कि आसमान की तरफ़ फेंकें, आसमान से जवाब आया, यह ख़ूने ना हक़ है इसे इस तरफ़ न फेकिये वरना क़यामत तक के लिये बारिश का सिलसिला बन्द हो जायेगा। आपने चाहा कि उसे ज़मीन की तरफ़ ही फेंक दें, उधर से भी जवाब मिल गया। तो आपने उसे 66 अपने चेहरा ए मुबारक पर मल लिया और फ़रमाया, हकज़ा लाती जद्दी रसूल अल्लाह ” मैं इसी तरह अपने जदे नामदार हज़रत मोहम्मद मुस्तफ़ा ( स.व.व.अ.) की खिदमत में पहुँचूँगा । ( अबसारूल ऐन व अनवारूल शहादत ) इसके बाद आपने एक नन्हीं सी क़ब्र खोदी और उसमें हज़रत अली असग़र को दफ़्न फ़रमा दिया।

Imam Ali (a.s) Miraculous victory over the Jinns.
When the Prophet (saww) set out against the Banu al Mustaliq, he avoided the road.
Night came and he stopped near a rugged valley. Towards the end of the night, Gabriel (a.s) came down to tell him that a group of unbelieving Jinn had gone into the valley with intention of plotting against him and causing harm to his companions.
He called for the Commander of the faithful Ali (a.s) and told him:

“Go to this valley, those of the jinn who are enemies of Allah (s.w.t), who want (to attack) you, will come against you.
Repel them with the strength which Allah (s.w.t) has given you.
You will be protected by the names of Allah (s.w.t) which he has specially endowed you with knowledge of.
He sent him a hundred men from different groups among the people.
He told them: “stay with him and obey his orders.”
The commander of the faithful (a.s) set out for the valley. When he was near the side of the valley, he ordered the hundred men who had accompanied him to stand close to the side and not to do anything until he gave them permission.
He went forward and stood at the edge of the valley. He sought refuge with Allah (s.w.t) from his enemies and he named Allah (called the name of Allah), may His name be magnified.
He signaled to the people who had followed him to come closer.
They came closer and there was a gap between him and them of the distance of a bow shot.
Then he began to go down into the valley when a hurricane arose, which almost made the people fall on their faces because of its violence.

They could not keep their feet on the ground because of terror of opposition and terror of what would come upon them.
The commander of the faithful, shouted:

“I am Ali bin Abi Talib bin Abd al Muttalib (a.s) the testamentary trustee of authority (wasi) of the Apostle of God (saww) and his cousin.
Defy (us) as if you want to. Persons in the form of gipsies appeared before the people who seemed to have torches of fire in their hands and they dried up (all) the sides of the valley. The commander of the faithful (a.s) penetrated deep into the valley, while reciting the Quran and signaling to right and left with his sword.
It was not long before the persons became like black smoke.
The commander of the faithful (a.s) magnified Allah (s.w.t).
Then he climbed back the way he had come down.
He stood with the people who had accompanied him. The place became yellow as result of what had happened to it.
The Companions of the Apostle of Allah (s.w.t) said to him:

“Abu al Hasan (a.s) we almost died of fear and anxiety for you because of what you met.
It was worse than (anything else) that has happened to us.”
“When the enemy showed themselves to me,” he told them, “and I shouted the names of Allah (s.w.t) among them, they became smaller and I knew the terror which had come upon them.

Therefore I went into the valley without any fear of them. If they had remained in substantial forms, I would have attacked them to the last one.
Allah (s.w.t) was sufficient (protection) against their plotting and He was sufficient (help) for the Muslims against their wickedness.
The rest of them will go ahead of me to the Apostle of Allah (s.w.t) in order to (confess that they) believe in him.”
The Commander of the faithful (a.s) returned with those who had been with him to the Apostle of Allah (Saww).
He gave him the news. (The Apostle) was delighted with him and prayed for his well-being.
Then he said to him Ali (a.s) those who Allah (s.w.t) filled with fear through you have come ahead of you to me.
They submitted to Islam and I accepted their submission.”

Note: The battle with jinn is known as Jung e Bair Al Alam and from the Jinns – Jafar e jinn was appointed as the leader of the jinns who accepted Islam after battle. (Sayed Tabish Kausar)
