𝐀𝐥-𝐌𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐢𝐛𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐮’𝐛𝐚,  𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲.

𝐀𝐥-𝐌𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐢𝐛𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐮’𝐛𝐚,  𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲.

☀️Do not consume your property wrongfully, nor use it to bribe judges, intending sinfully and knowingly to consume parts of other people’s property

👳‍♂️Al-Suyuti

“The first person to offer a bribe in Islam was al-Mughīra b. Shuʿba. He bribed Yarfaʾ, the chamberlain (ḥājib) of ʿHazrat Umar.”

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed the one who bribes and the one who takes bribe.
