THE ONE WHO GREETED OTHERS WARMLY
One of the most beloved practices to the beloved Prophet Muhammad was the greetings of peace. Whenever the Prophet would meet others he would be the first to greet them with the greetings of peace and he by shaking their hands.² He would meet them enjoined on his followers to greet each other in the same way and to spread the greetings of peace to those they know and those they do not know.³
It was reported that the Prophet would smile when he would meet others. Whenever he knocked on someone’s door, he would never stand in front of the door, but he would keep a little distance and stand on its sides so as to not frighten the person opening and to give them space.4 If someone called out to him, he would not turn his face only, but he would turn his whole body towards that person and give them his whole attention. 5
