Dark Energy

Causes the universe to expand.  dark_energy

Astronomers just confirmed the existence of “Dark Energy”, a mysterious repulsive force that acts in opposite to gravity. As the distance increases, the attractive gravitational force decreases but this mysterious repulsive force increases. This repulsive force is pushing galaxies apart; the greater the distance the greater the repulsion. Scientists today do not know what this “Dark Energy” is, but they know that it is causing the entire universe to expand at an increasing rate.

Without dark energy the universe would have collapsed in on itself a long time ago. However this was portrayed in the Quran 1400 years before it was discovered:

[Quran 13.2] Allah is the one who raised the heavens without pillars that you can see, and then settled on the Throne. And He regulated the sun and the moon, each running for a specified period. He manages all affairs, and He explains the signs, that you may be certain of the meeting with your Lord.

“He raised the heavens without pillars that you can see” the function of pillars is to act in opposite to gravity. Today we know that dark energy acts in opposite to gravity, is invisible and has kept the universe from imploding.

The Quran says that without Allah the universe would have vanished.

[Quran 35.41] Allah holds the heavens and the earth, lest they vanish. And they would have vanished if someone else tried to hold them after Him. He is Most Clement, Most Forgiving.

Allah is the only one who can keep the heavens from vanishing. Today we know without this dark energy the universe would have collapsed and vanished a long time ago.

(The Bible says that the sky is “hard as a mirror of cast bronze” Job 37:18. So the Bible insists on a static universe. Actually Albert Einstein’s famous blunder, the cosmological constant, was to explain the static universe. Although at that time no scientific evidence existed to support that claim, Einstein gave the Bible the benefit of the doubt and went for a static universe, non-expanding non-contracting. Later, when Edwin Hubble discovered the expansion of the universe, Einstein retracted this cosmological constant and called it the biggest blunder of his career. By trusting the Bible Einstein got it wrong by the order of 10120).

Soil Expansion

Soil Expansion

Causes potholes.

What is an “Expansive Soil”?
Expansive soils contain minerals such as smectite clays that are capable of absorbing water. When they absorb water, they increase in volume. The more water they absorb, the more their volume increases. Expansions of ten percent or more are not uncommon. This change in volume can exert enough force on a building or other structure to cause damage.

It is the water that causes the soil to expand. Potholes on asphalt roads are caused by the expansion and contraction of the soil underneath them. When water causes the soil to expand it pushes the asphalt upward. When the soil dries it contracts and the asphalt makes a pothole.

However this was portrayed in the Quran 1400 years before it was discovered.

[Quran 41:39] And of His signs is that you see the land still. But when We send down water upon it, it shakes and rises. Surely, He Who revived it will revive the dead. He is Able to do all things.

“Rabua in Arabic رَبْوَة ” means high ground. Its verb “Yarbu يَربُو ” means rise higher. In this verse “Rabat رَبَتْ” means rose higher for females (it is also found in Quran 13:17 meaning float or rise to the top of water). In this verse water causes the soil to shake and rise upward.

HABWAH (حبوة).

HABWAH (حبوة).

Ever been to a class and found it difficult to sit comfortably? Well here is your solution.. Habwah!.

Habwah have been widely used especially in the Arab world in following one of the Sunnah sitting positions of the Prophet ﷺ.

The word Habwah, which is derived from the word Ihtihaa’; points to an object that is being used when sitting in the Ihtibaa’ position. Ihtabaa’ means to sit on the buttocks with both thighs raised, and both arms folded around the thighs. Sometimes instead of the arms a habwah e.g. cloth, lungi or a turban is tied around the back, both thighs and legs for support so that both arms will be free. Besides gaining rest, this manner of sitting displays humbleness and peacefulness.

For this reason, the Prophet ﷺ and the Sahaabah رضي الله عنهم many a times have sat in this manner. It is said that sitting in the ihtibaa’ position is like leaning on a wall for the Arabs as there are no walls to be leaned on in the wilderness.
