
THE TEACHER OF SELF-RESTRAINT
said. According “The great striver in the way of God is he who strives against his lower self,” the Prophet Muhammad to the Prophet striving against one’s ego and learning selfrestraint are the greatest things that one can strive for.¹ In another narration, the Prophet Muhammad addressed toxic behaviour and reset the balance of true masculinity by encouraging men to show self-restraint and to learn to control their anger. He said: “The strong man is not one who is good at wrestling, but the strong man is one who controls himself in a fit of rage.”²
