Hazrat Musa Kazim AlahisSalam part 5

Unveiling the Secrets

Isa Madain says, “Once, I went to Mecca Muaz’zama and served the community for one year. Then I thought I should go to Medina Munawara because staying there and serving people there also pays religiously. Finally, I came to Medina Munawara and halted near Daarbuzar. Then, I went to Hazrat Musa Kazim. When I went to him, he said, ‘O Isa, go home and see that the house is collapsed on your bags and baggage.’ When I went, I saw that really the house had collapsed over my kits. Immediately I hired labour and made him bring out my belongings. When everything was brought, I came to know that a waterpot was missing. On the next day when I went to him, he asked me, ‘Is anything missing from your goods? If you have missed anything, tell me, I will request Allah, the Almighty and He will compensate.’ I told him, ‘Except the waterpot; nothing is missed.’ He leaned his head a little and, raising it after some time said, ‘You had kept it somewhere else before the house collapsed, and, forgot it. Tell the maid-servant of your house that she should collect it from the toilet and give it to you.’ When I told the maid-servant, she immediately returned me the waterpot.” (Masa’alik-ul-Sa’alikin)

To Keep Silken Cloak Carefully

Abdullah-bin-Idrish-bin-Sanaan narrates, Once, Caliph Harun al Rashid sent Ali-bin-Yaqtin, some precious robes (cloak) to honour him. Ali bin Yaqtin sent one cloak from it to Hazrat Imam Musa Kazim. He returned with a covering letter saying, ‘Keep it and do not let it leave your hands. For an event will occur to you because of it when you have the need of it with him’ Ali-bin-Yaqtin could not find any reason for the return. After receiving the letter, he kept the cloak safely in a cup board. A few days later, he was annoyed with the slave and acked him. The slave complained to Harun Rashid, ‘This man is inclined towards the Imam Musa Kazim and is living a truthful life. Every year he sends him gifts and donation. This year also, the cloak that you had sent to him had been, as usual, sent.’ Harun Rashid said, ‘We will find out what is the truth, and, if your report is true, then, he will be assassinated. And this is the least punishment.’ Harun Rashid at once summoned Bin Yaqtin before him and asked him about the cloak which had been given by him. He said, ‘You were selected from the special group of courtiers.’ He said, ‘It is with me in lock and key.’ He was ordered to present it immediately. He said, ‘Yes.’ He called a servant and told, ‘Go hurriedly. Take the key to the house from the palace, open the house and bring the chest from there.’ The slave went to the palace, and within a short time, the chest was before Harun Rashid. When it was opened, the cloak was intact in the same position and fitness. Harun Rashid returned it and said, ‘Henceforth, I will never accept anything told against you.’ He called the slave, who had complained and scolded him. He was punished with one thousand whips. But, he died before five hundred whips. (Masaalik-ul-Saalikin)
