HIS FAMILY HISTORY:
His forefather Hazrat Abul Farah (Radi ALLAHu Ta’ala Anho) came to India and after his wisaal, his grandson Hazrat Sayyid Shah Muhammad Sughra (Radi ALLAHu Ta’ala Anho) came to India. Sultan Shamsudeen Al Tamish had great respect for him and honoured him with an army equal to the Raaja of Bilgiraam, and sent him to conquer the city. Hazrat Sayyid Muhammad Sughra (Radi ALLAHu Ta’ala Anho) conquered Bilgiraam and turned the hearts of many towards Islam, firmly planting the flag of Islam in Bilgiraam. Sultaan Shamsudeen Al Tamish was very pleased and gave Bilgiraam to him as his property. Hazrat then summoned the rest of his family to Bilgiraam.
Acquisition of Knowledge:
He was born in an intellectual family. He received the knowledge of Tafseer, Hadith and Jurisprudence under the supervision of his respected father and he began to count in the great Scholars of that time.
Allegiance and Caliphate (Khilafat) By granting him the allegiance and Khilafat in all the Sufi orders, his respected father also gave him the permission for taking the allegiance in five Saintly orders (Qadria, Chishtia, Naqshbandia, Soharwardia and Madariya). Then, he went to Hazrat Shah Fazlullah Kalpuri رحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ, where he was awarded from the Khilafat.
Character and Peculiarities: His personality does not require the introduction in Indo-Pak because he was the thirtieth Imam of Qadri-order and the perfect Sheikh of his time. His praiseworthy personality was the combination of the Shariat-o-Tariqat and reality. It is true that he was a gatherer of all the Sufi orders. He had the khilafat and the complete permission of all the ‘Aurad-o-Wazaif’ (incantations). When he heard the fame of knowledge, wisdom, Sulook and Marifat of Noor-ul-Arifeen Hazrat Syed Shah Fazlullah Kalpuriرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ , he went to Kalpi Shareef, which was the Qiblah of knowledge, wisdom, Islamic culture and civilization at that time. By facing the difficulties of travel, he got at the auspicious court of Noor-ul-Arifeen Hazrat Syed Shah Fazlullahرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ . Then, he said three times, “دریا بدریا پیوست” i.e. “River got into the river.” Hazrat Syed Meer Shah Fazlullahرحمۃ اللہ تعالٰی علیہ helped him in visiting the mystical ways and the many other places. Despite of the permission in the five saintly orders, he would take the oath of the allegiance from the people in Qadri order due to the great devotion to Huzoor Ghaus-ul-Azamرضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ . He fasted up to the twenty-six years. He would fast whole day and take only one date-palm at the Iftar time. He would worship at night and he would busy in the incantations (Wazaif) up to the Ishraq prayer. He used to go to Madrasa at the time of Chasht prayer and he would teach to the students there. It was his routine that he would start reciting the Holy Quran after Zuhr prayer and stopped it at the time of the Adhan of Asr prayer. He would meet with his devotees during Asr and Maghrib prayer and solve their issues.
He passed away on 10th Muharram-ul-Haram, 1142 AH/ August, 1729 AD and his blessed Shrine is the resort of all in Marehra Shareef.
