Hazrat Imam Muhammad Taqi AlaihisSalam part3

To Disappear from the Prison

An elderly man narrates, “When I was in Iraq, I heard that someone claimed to be a prophet. And he had kept in a prison at a particular place. I went there. I saw that he was quite a sensible man. I asked him, ‘What has happened to you?’ He said, ‘I was deeply involved in the worship of Allah at Syria in the mosque where Hazrat Imam Husain’s holy head was hung on a lance. One night, while I was praying, a person immediately emerged in front of me. He asked me to stand up. I stood up. We walked a little, and I found ourselves in the Kufa-mosque. He told me to stand up for prayer. I followed him in the prayer. After prayer, I went out of the mosque. I walked with him a little. I found myself in the Masjid-eNabawi. I offered my Salams to the holy shrine of my Sarwar e Kainat . The other person was busy in prayer. I also offered my prayer. He came out, and, I also followed him. A little ahead we walked and, I found myself in holy Mecca Muazza’ma. He took tawaf around Kaaba, and, I too, did so. He came out, and I also followed him. He disappeared from my sight, and I found myself in the Syria-mosque where I was busy praying. I was very much astonished to see this. I could not understand how it all happened. The following year, the same person appeared again and repeated the journey as the previous year. When we came back, and when the time of separation came, I asked him, ‘On the oath of Allah, the Almighty who has bestowed grace on you, and, who is the omnipotent in my imagination, please tell me who are you?’ He said, ‘I am Muhammad bin Ali bin Musa bin Jafar. In the morning, I narrated the whole episode to the people who had doubts about me. This news reached to the governor of Syria also. He alleged me to be a fake claimant of prophethood, arrested me and took me with him. The whole matter was reported to the king. The king wrote, “Tell the person, who took you to Kufa from Syria and from Syria to Kufa then from Kufa to Medina Munawara then from Medina to Mecca Mauzzama in the same night, to get you relieved.’ When I heard this reply, I was very much displeased. In the morning, when I got up, I went towards the prison with a view to informing him of the whole matter. I saw that the jail-staff was disturbed and confused. I asked why they were so disturbed.’ They told me that the imprisoned person had fled. They said, ‘We do not know whether he has hidden himself in the skies or under the surface of the earth.
