Who is a Niazi?

A Niazi is a disciple of Silsila-e-Niazia. Silsilila-e-Niazia is an extension of Silsila Qadariya & Chishtiya-Nizamia. Founder of this Silsila-e-Niazia was Qutbe Alam Madare Azam Hazrat Shah Niaz Ahmad Qadri Chishti RA, who was a successor of the throne of main Qadariya & Chishtiya Silsilas. Hazrat Shah Niaz Ahmad RA was born in 1742 A.D./ 1155 A.H at Sirhind whose forefathers hailed from Bukhara Andijaan now known as Uzbekistan and settled down at Sirhind from where they came to Delhi. Hazrat Shah Niaz Ahmad RA received religious education/ lessons from the Madarsa under the patronage of Hazrat Maulana Fakhruddin Mohammad Dehelvi who was the Khalifa and Sajjada Nashin of Chistiya-Nizamiya Silsila. After getting the Dastar-Bandhi on the completion of lessons in Hadith, Fiqah, Mantiq & Tib, Hazrat Shah Niaz Ahmad RA was adorned with the felicitation of Khilafat and Jaan-Nashini of Chishtiya Silsila. Hazrat Shah Niaz Ahmad RA became the centre of Chishtiya-Nizamiya Silsila. He was also blessed with the Jaan-Nashini of Qadriya Silsila through Hazrat Syed Abdullah Bghdadi Qadqri RA who was the descendent of Gaus-e-Azam Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jeelani RA. Hazrat Shah Niaz Ahmad RA founded his Khanqah at Bareilly Shareef UP India from where he started Tableegh-e-Deen & had thousands and thousands of disciples from all corners of the world. This Khanqah known as Khanqaah-e-Niazia Bareilly is still the centre of Silsila-e-Niazia where Taaliban-e-Haq still gather together in millions every year on the occasion of Urs. Hazrat Shah Niaz Ahmad passed away (wisaal) at the age of 95 on 6 Jamadussani 1250 A.H./ 1834 A.D. Hazrat Shah Niaz Ahmad RA has five spiritual successors (Jaan-Nashin) till date. People who are the disciples of this Silsila are called Niazi added to their name as a matter of pride.
