♣ A person came to Allah, ‘s Messenger (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and said: Who among the people is most deserving of a fine treatment from my hand? He said: Your mother. He again said: Then who (is the next one)? He said: Again it is your mother (who deserves the best treatment from you). He said: Then who (is the next one)? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Again, it is your mother. He (again) said: Then who? Thereupon he said: Then it is your father. In the hadith transmitted on the authority of Qutalba, there is no mention of the word” the people”.

♣ Mu’awiyah RadhiAllahu Anhu asked: Apostle of Allah, what is the right of the wife of one of us over him? He replied: That you should give her food when you eat, clothe her when you clothe yourself, do not strike her on the face, do not revile her or separate yourself from her except in the house.

“Whichever woman dies while her husband is pleased with her, then she enters Paradise.”

♣ Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam observed the trace of yellow on Abdur Rahman ibn Awf RadhiAllahu Anhu and asked, “What is it?” He said, “I have married a woman for the weight of nawah in gold”. He said, “May Allah bless you. Give a wedding feast, even with a sheep only”.

♣ We were with the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam while we were young and had no wealth whatever. So Allah’s Apostle Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “O young people! Whoever among you can marry, should marry, because it helps him lower his gaze and guard his modesty (i.e. his private parts from committing illegal sexual intercourse etc.), and whoever is not able to marry, should fast, as fasting diminishes his sexual power.”

♣ Hazrath Aishah RadhiAllahu Anha asked Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam : “ if women must be asked for their permission of marriage.” Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam replied, “Yes.” She said, “The virgin is asked for her permission but she gets shy. Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Her silence is her permission.”

Women Dress

♣  Hazrath Aisha (RadhiAllahu Anha) used to say:

When (the Verse): They should draw their veils over their necks and bosoms, was revealed, (the ladies) cut their waist sheets at the edges and covered their faces with the cut pieces.

♣  Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said,

Women who are naked even though they are wearing clothes, go astray and make others go astray, and they will not enter the Garden and they will not find its scent, and its scent is experienced from as far as the distance travelled in five hundred years.

Muwatta Book 48 , Hadith 7

♣  An Ansari girl was married and she became sick and all her hair fell out intending to provide her with false hair. They asked the Holy Prophet (Sallalahu Alaihi Wasallam) who said, “Allah has cursed the lady who artificially lengthens (her or someone else’s) hair and also the one who gets her hair lengthened.”

♣  Safiyyah daughter of Shaybah said, that Aisha (RadhiAllahu Anha) mentioned the women of Ansar, praised them and said good words about them. She then said: When Surat an- Nur came down, they took the curtains, tore them and made head covers (veils) of them.

♣  Holy Prophet (Sallalahu Alaihi Wasallam) cursed women who practice tattooing and the women who have themselves tattooed and the women who remove hair from their eye lashes to look beautiful, the women who alter Allah’s creation.

♣  Allah’s Messenger (Sallalahu Alaihi Wasallam) cursed men who try to resemble women and women who try to resemble men.

♣  Holy Prophet (Sallalahu Alaihi Wasallam) said

There shall be, in the latter part of my nation, women who are dressed but (in fact) naked, on their heads are humps like those of Bukht (one kind of camels), curse them for they are surely cursed.

♣  Asma (Radiyallahu Anha) the daughter of Abu Bakr (Radiyallahu Anhu) came to the Messenger of Allah while wearing thin clothing. He approached her and said: ‘O Asma’! When a girl reaches the menstrual age, it is not proper that anything should remain exposed except this and this. He pointed to the face and hands.”

♣  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) intended women who put on light clothes that shows off and shapes the body descriptions. In reality they are naked although they have clothes on them!

Imam Tabarani narrated in “Al-Mu’jam As-Sagheer” P. 232

♣  Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said Two are the types of the denizens of Hell whom I did not see: people having flogs like the tails of the ox with them and they would be beating people, and the women who would be dressed but appear to be naked, who would be inclined (to evil) and make their husbands incline towards it. Their heads would be like the humps of the bukht camel inclined to one side. They will not enter Paradise and they would not smell its odour whereas its odour would be smelt from such and such distance.

♣ Whenever a lady suffering from fever was brought to Asma’ bint Abu Bakr, she used to invoke Allah for her and then sprinkle some water on her body, at the chest and say, “Allah’s Apostle used to order us to abate fever with water.”

♣ The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said:

Verily, Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people but he takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars, so that when He leaves no learned person, people turn to ignorant as their, leaders then they are asked to deliver religious verdicts and they deliver them without knowledge, they go astray, and lead others astray.
