Qur’ān on Evolution

Qur’ān on Evolution

e the fact The aforesaid discussion clarifies the fact that Darwinian theory of evolution is rationally and logically a baseless hypothesis. It is not based on scientific reasons but rather an outcome of atheistic and materialistic influences. It is a collection of misconceptions and delusions. The Qur’ān, therefore, rejects this theory, as it is absolutely incompatible with the Qur’anic teachings. Let’s

see the real Qur’ānic belief relating the creation of first man i.e. Adam.

A number of Qur’ānic verses witness the Divine declaration pronouncing Adam as His successor created with clay. After completing his special creation God Almighty commanded the angels to prostrate before him. The logic was to enhance his dignified stature as His successor. The Qur’an says:

And (Call to the mind) when your lord said to the angels: “I am about to create a on earth. vicegerent on earth. 1 The word “vicegerent” in this verse is used as singular which means that Almighty Allah is showing His intention to create one successor. In order to further emphasize His design the words ‘innija’elun’ have been used. These words indicate that Allāh is going to create the first man (Adam) with through planning. A number of Qur’ānic verses corroborate the reality that Allāh the Greatest does nothing without proper planning:

And He has created everything, then determined for it a proper measure. It is further stated:

Qur’an (al-Baqarah) 2:30.

Qur’an (al-Furqan) 25:2.

Verily, for all things has Allāh appointed a due proportion.’

The Qur’an further stresses the reality that:

And everything whith Him is in proper

measurement.

The words ‘qaddara’ and ‘taqdir’ have the same meaning. They reflect that the whole phenomena of the universe and of the biological species is operating under a compact and organized Divine planning. The Qur’an says:

Allah is the Creator of all things and He is the Guardian and Disposer of all affairs.³

It is further stated:

The Glorify the name of the Guardian Lord, most high, Who has created and further given order and proportion; Who has ordained laws and granted guidance.

e aforementioned verses nullify the evolutionary theory concocted by the Western scientists.

ISHMAEL (ISMAIL) Alahissalam.

ISHMAEL (ISMAIL)

Ishmael (Ismail) was the elder son of Abraham born to Hager (Hajirah). Sarah, the first wife of Prophet Abraham had no child of her own. She became jealous of Hager. But God had his own designs for Sarah. God instructed Abraham to take his wife Hager and his son Ishmael to Hejaz, deep south in the desert of Arabia where the city of Mecca is now situated. It was a desolate place at that time.

The Miracle of Zam Zam

The place where God had instructed Abraham to leave his wife and child was without any vegetation or habitation. Ishmael was thirsty and the mother had run out of water. She ran several times between two hills trying to look for help, water or vegetation. She was unsuccessful in her quest. However as the child cried, kicking the ground with his heels, a spring of fresh water gushed out. This spring runs with unlimited fresh water to this day and is treated as holy water by pilgrims to Mecca. The act of Hager became so significant in her effort to save the life of her child who would be a prophet that God deemed this an essential part of the Pilgrimage (Hajj) ritual for all times to come.

The Founding of the City of Mecca

A wandering tribe of the land known as Banu Jarham arrived in the desolate territory to find Ishmael and his mother encamped with the fresh water spring which never existed there before. They were fascinated when they heard the story of the spring. They knew that there had been no such spring at that site before. They paid reverence to the holy family and erected their tents by the spring. This temporary sojourn became a permanent settlement and later came to be known as Mecca.
The Trial of Abraham by God

Ishmael was only nine when his father Abraham saw in a dream that he sacrificed his only son to please God. On seeing the same dream on three consecutive nights, he told Ishmael about it. Ishmael replied that it must be a test from God to test their wills and he was willing to be sacrificed for God. Abraham took his son Ishmael to Mina, laid him on the ground and tied his arms and legs with a cord. As he placed his knife on the throat of his son, the Archange! Gabriel appeared and announced that the test of their ultimate submission to God was complete. Just then, by the Grace of God, a healthy lamb appeared there to be sacrificed in place of Ishmael. Abraham was given the happy tiding that God was pleased with them and their position would be elevated. Abraham was also given the happy news of another Isaac. son,

This act of the great prophet Abraham and his son Ishmael became an essential part of pilgrimage (Hajj) for all times and is celebrated a day before the annual Eid al-Adha.

The Building of Ka’ba

Abraham and his son Ishmael, following divine instructions, built the Ka’ba in Mecca as a House of worship for God. On completion of the holy structure, both of them prayed to God for acceptance of their service. They called upon the people to come for pilgrimage (Hajj). Since then, the tradition of the two prophets has continued to be performed through the centuries. The black stone (Hajre Aswad) was placed in one corner of the building by Prophet Abraham. According to some traditions, this stone had descended from the heaven!

For the Muslim pilgrim, one of the center points of the rituals of Hajj is to go round the Ka’ba seven times and to kiss Hajre Aswad. This is done in remembrance of the act of devotion by the patriarch of our prophets. It is one of the essential obligations of the faithful to go to Mecca and perform the ritual Hajj at least once during their lifetime.

Ishmael had many sons and daughters who migrated to

several parts of the Arabian Peninsula and they imparted the teachings of Abraham wherever they settled. However Mecca. remained the central place of congregation throughout the ages and Ka’ba continued to be the most revered house of worship. Ishmael is also known as Abul Arab, the patriarch of the

Arabs.

The last of the messengers of God, the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, was born in the clan of Quraish who descended from Ishmael and were amongst the most powerful people of Arabia.

ALI, THE MAGNIFICENT part 19

March on Mecca.

On the 10th Ramazan, 8 A. H. or the 1st January 630 A. D. Muhammad took the road to Mecca with a fully equipped army of ten thousand strong, and marched in all haste towards the Holy City of Mecca. The Muslim army continued its unopposed march to Marr-uz-Zuhraan, within sight of Mecca. Here they were ordered to camp and to await developments, and they were permitted to light camp fires. Soon the heights were ablaze with a thousand fires, and the Meccans who had not received any tidings of the impending danger, were struck with terror at this sight.

Realising that Islam could no longer be prevented from spreading, Abu Sufyan sought to save his skin by a profes-sion of the faith. The Holy Prophet did not trust him any more than at the time of Ohad. Hence he did not expose his army to any surprise move on the part of the Mec- cans. He ordered his forces to surround the city and to enter from four different points. To Ali, who commanded a large body of cavalry, was confided the Sacred Banner. which he was to plant on Mount Hajun, and which he was to maintain there until the Prophet joined him.

Express orders were given to all Generals to practise forbearance, and under no circumstances make the first attack. The main body of the army advanced without molestation. Muhammad brought up the rearguard. clad in a scarlet vest, and riding on his favourite camel Al-Qaswa. He proceeded slowly, his movements being impeded by the immense multitude which thronged around. him. Arriving at Mount Hajun, where Ali had planted. the Standard of the Faith, he had a tent pitched for himself. Here he alighted, put off his Scarlet garment, and assumed the black turban and the pilgrim’s garb.

Not long after this, accompanied by Ali, he proceeded direct to the sanctuary of Kaaba, kissed the sacred stone, performed the seven circuits round the sanctuary, and offered his devout prayers.

The city was at his mercy, but history does not afford a similar example of the magnanimous generosity and forbearance which was displayed by Muhammad. “What can you expect at my hands?” He asked them. “Mercy”, they replied. Tears came into the eyes of the Prophet when he heard them beg for mercy. “I will speak to you”. he continued, “as Joseph spoke to his brethren. I will not reproach you today. God will forgive you, for He is merciful and loving. Go; ye are free!” can anything be
more sublime than this? (Eternal Peace be upon him and his Holy Progeny).

sixty symbols around the

There were three hundred and Kaaba representing the pagan Arab Gods. The Prophet pointed to each with his staff whilst reciting the verse, “Truth has come and falsehood being perishable has vanished” and the symbols fell on their faces. Pictures of Abraham and Ishmael and of the angels in female form, which covered the walls of the Kaaba were obliterated. Hobal the Symbol treated as the greatest deity of Mecca, was fixed on a high position beyond reach. To destroy it, the Prophet desired Ali to mount on his shoulders. Ali hesitated for a moment. “Do as you are told” reiterated the voice of the Master. Ali then got up on the Holy Prophet’s shoulders and completed the destruction. He threw down all the symbols, replica of the “Age of Ignorance”, and then jumped down from the shoulders of his Master. Then the Prophet asked Ali, “how did you feel when you were mounting my shoulders?” To this Ali replied, “While there I found that my hand reached to a height as high as Heaven, and that I could remove whatever I wanted with ease.” The Holy Prophet replied, “O Ali! I congratulate you on performing a Divine duty, and lucky am I indeed that I The Holy held the Divine burden on my shoulders.” Prophet’s order to Ali to mount on his shoulders was nothing but a Divine Revelation which signified that Ali was a partner in this Divinely ordained Command of the Lord.

The Bani Jazhima.

The Bani Jazhima, who lived at a day’s march from Mecca, had already embraced Islam, but none of them had turned up to pay respects to the Prophet at Mecca. The Prophet deputed Khalid with a small detachment to
enquire, with difinite instructions not to provoke a struggle. Khalid secretly rejoiced to get this commission which afforded him a chance to take revenge for the murder of his uncle some years ago at the hands of the Jazhimites. Revenge he did take by ordering the execution of some of them.

The Prophet, grieved at receiving the sad news of the outrage, raised up his hands to Heaven and called God to witness that he was innocent of what Khalid had done. On his return, when Khalid was upbraided, he shifted the blame to Abd-al-Rahman, but the Prophet indignantly rejected the imputation.

Accordingly, the Holy Prophet sent Ali with a sum of money for distribution among the people to compensate for the bloodshed, and to restore to them what Khalid. had wrested from them. The generous Ali executed the commission faithfully. Inquiring into the losses and sufferings of each individual, Ali paid as much compensation as they demanded. When all blood was atoned for and all the sufferers were satisfied, he distributed the remaining money among them, gladdening every heart by his bounty. The Prophet applauded this generosity, praised and thanked Ali. Khalid was rebuked and reproved.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman Ibn Ustaaz Azam R.A

Abdur Rahman Ibn Ustaaz Azam

When Shaykh Abdur Rahman went to visit the grave of Nabi Hud (A.S.) some of his companions asked him to be their guest. They placed food before him but he refused to eat. They stated “Shaykh the food has been prepared for no-one else but yourself.’ He replied indicated to a bird, “”””This green bird has told me that there is doubt in this food as to whether it is halal or not.” The matter was looked into and it was as the bird had warned.
