Jibreel in the presence of the Holy Prophet Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) part 1

Jibreel in the presence of the Holy Prophet Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)

Allah Ta’ala made His Beloved Prophet superior to all the other Prophets in terms of excellence, attributes, miracles and spiritual stations.

Of all these Messengers (whom We sent) We have exalted some above others: Allah spoke to some of them (directly), and raised some (above all others) in rank (i.e. elevated the Holy Prophet [Allah bless him and give him peace] to the highest of all the degrees of the glory of Messengership). And We gave ‘Isa son of Maryam (Jesus son of Mary), clear Signs and helped him with the Holy Spirit. And had Allah so willed, the people succeeding these Messengers would never have disputed and fought among themselves, after the manifest Signs had come to them. But they differed (owing to the free will which was endowed to them to be answerable before Allah for their performance). So, some of them believed while others opted to disbelieve. (And keep it in mind that) if Allah had willed (i.e. restricted their choice to one opinion only) they would never have fought among themselves. But Allah does what He desires. Surah Baqarah (2:253)

The whole creation including the angels is the Ummah of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)

This is an undeniable fact concerning our beliefs and faith that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is the raison d’être for the creation of this universe and everything in it. The whole creation including the angels is His Ummah as given in Sahih Muslim:

And I have been sent towards the whole creation and the series of Prophethood. (Sahih Muslim Vol. 1 Pg. No. Hadith no. 523; Musnad Imam Ahmad Bin Hambal, Hadith No. 8969)

Hadhrat Mulla Ali Qari (May Allah Ta’ala shower His mercy on him) writes in the commentary of this Hadith in Sharh Mishkaat Mirqat:

Translation: I have been sent towards the whole universe, genies and humans, angels, animals and all stationary creation with Prophethood. (Mirqaatul Mafateeh, Vol. 5, Pg. No. 163)

Allah Ta’ala stated the grandeur and lofty status of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and commanded the Ummah to respect and revere the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) given in Surah Fatah: –

So that, (O people,) you may believe in Allah and His Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) and may help his (Din [Religion]), and revere and venerate him heart and soul,

and (with that) glorify Allah morning and evening. Surah Fatah: (48:09)

Human beings, genies of a pure nature, angels and all creation respect and revere the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). It cannot be imagined that angels and especially the chief of all angels Jibreel (May peace be upon him) would disrespect the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) in any way.

Allah Ta’ala says in Surah Tahreem:

O Believers! Safeguard yourselves and your families against a Fire whose fuel is men and stones. Strong and stern angels have been appointed over it who do not disobey Allah whatever command He gives them to execute. And they accomplish only that assignment which they are commanded to do. Surah Tahreem (66:06)

Allah Ta’ala made Jibreel a servant of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). Jibreel (May peace be upon him) been created only to serve the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) Imam Yousuf Bin Ismail Nabhani writes on the authority of Shaykh Abdul Aziz Dabbagh (May Allah Ta’ala shower His mercy on him):

Translation: Whatever lofty spiritual stations were granted to Hadhrat Jibreel (May peace be upon him), they were granted only because of his association with the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and because of his service to Him. If Jibreel (May peace be upon him) had spent his life without serving the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and had made efforts to gain those spiritual stations and had spent all his energies to gain them, even then he could not have attained even one station on his own. Whatever blessings he gained from the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is not known to anybody except Jibreel (May peace be upon him) and those on whom Allah Ta’ala has opened the doors of Ma’arifah (gnosis).

Hadhrat Abdul Aziz Dabbagh (May Allah Ta’ala shower His mercy on him) continues:

Jibreel (May peace be upon him) has been created only to serve the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and this is why he defends the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) with his whole being.

Jibreel (May peace be upon him) benefits from the shower of the Holy Prophet’s (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) shower of Mercy

Imam Qazi Iyaz (May Allah shower His mercy on him) writes in his magnum opus Ash Shifa, in the first chapter:

It has been narrated that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) told Jibreel (May peace be upon him): Have you received anything from my special mercy? He said: Yes. I used to be frightened about my fate. Now I am content about it. Because of You, Allah Ta’ala said the following about me:

Who is Mighty and Strong (in Calling to the Truth, Preaching the faith in Messengership and Spiritual Competence, and) is held in extreme reverence and veneration (and splendor and glory) in the Presence of the Lord of the Throne. Surah Takveer (81:20)

NOAH (NUH) Alahissalam

NOAH (NUH)

Noah (Nuh) was born to Lamak in the tenth generation of Adam. He was a grandson of Enoch. He preached oneness of God but the people turned to idolatry. They laughed at Noah and ridiculed his preaching. They tortured him and his family. Their hearts had hardened and they had shut their ears to his words. Yet he remained patient and continued preaching. When he got tired of the obstinacy and hostility of his people towards him, his family and his teachings, he complained to God about them. God told Noah that they had transgressed His limits and would get His punishment which would serve as a lesson for generations to come. He told Noah that he would send an enormous flood that will engulf and destroy all non- believers and their dwellings along with their false gods.

The Deluge

God instructed Noah to build a large boat and bring on board all believers and a pair of each species of animals before He unleashed His floods. Noah carried out the instructions of God and started building an enormous ark. Since there was no sea or gulf but only a meager river, people laughed at him for onstructing a boat of such large dimeations. Upon completion of his task, Noah invited people to come on board, but they ridiculed him. The family of the prophet, three of his four sons and a handful of true believers along with a pair of each species of animals boarded the ark.

As soon as Noah entered the ark, thunderous rain started to pour from the sky and springs bursted from the bottom of the Earth. As the waters rose higher and higher, people climbed up the tallest trees and headed towards high grounds. The waters began to engulf these refuges too. Some people repented and wanted to board the ark, but alas it was too late. The ark had been sealed to protect against the downpour and the turbulence of the roaring waters. The floods spread far and wide, covering

the entire terrain, destroyed all living things except those who had believed in the prophet and heeded his warning and had boarded with him.

It is said that the flooding lasted one hundred and fifty days. When the waters receded, the ark came to rest over Mount Ararat. The occupants of the ark came out and thanked the Lord for their miraculous survival. They then spread out to inhabit the Earth again with the blessings of their Lord.

Noah is known in Torah. He lived for nine hundred and fifty years and left a large progeny after him. His eldest surviving son Japheth (Yaffath) went northwest towards Europe. and settled there. His descendents are known as the Japhetic race. His middle son Shem (Sam) remained with his father in the Middle East. His descendents are known as the Semitic race. The youngest son Ham went southwest and settled in northern Africa. His descendents are called the Hemetic race.

ALI, THE MAGNIFICENT part 13

The Enemy’s last attempt.

Nothing further was attempted by the enemy that day; but great preparations were made during the night, Khalid with a strong party of horsemen vainly attempting to clear the ditch Next morning the Muslims found the whole force of the enemy marshalled against them along the line of entrenchment. They sought to gain the Muslim side of the Trench, but were repelled at every point. The Trench, fully served its purpose; it could not be crossed, and during the whole operation only five Muslims were killed. The enemy, notwithstanding their large numbers, were paralysed by the vigilance of the Muslim outposts. In their utter frustration they regarded the Trench as an unworthy subterfuge, being a foreign artifice with which no Arab was acquainted..

Infidelity of the Quraitza Jews.

Meanwhile Abu Sufyan demanded of the Quraitza Jews the fulfilment of their engagement to join in a general but the Jews doubted the attack on the following day; Quraish and their allies and feared that if the struggle proved a failure, the besiegers might conveniently withdraw and leave them to their fate. They accordingly demanded hostages in security against such an event, and pleaded their Sabbath as a pretext for not fighting the following day. This attitude aroused, in turn, the suspicions of the Quraish that the Jews, for making their

peace with Muhammad, were demanding hostages of them for the purpose of handing them over to Muhammad. Abu Sufyan and his confederate chiefs were greatly disheartened. Their hope so long centred on the Quraitza Jews falling upon the city in the rear of the Prophet’s defences, was now changed into a fear of hostilities from the treacherous Quraitza themselves.

Troubles in the enemy’s Camp.

Dispirited at the loss of their bravest General, Amr b. Abd Wudd, and wearied, as they were, after the two vigorous but unsuccessful attempts, the Quraish and their allies had no courage to attempt another general assault. Discord was also rife among them. The Bedouins had no forage for their camels and horses, which were dying daily in considerable numbers. Provisions were running short. Above all, the weather was intolerably troublesome to them. Night set in upon them cold and tempestuous. A storm of wind and rain blew dust in their faces, overturned their tents, extinguished their fires, overthrew their cooking vessels, and sent their horses astray. They exclaimed that it was all due to witchcraft and enchantment of Mu- hammad, who would be seen shortly falling upon them with his whole force, and they were greatly struck with terror.

The Prophet who was in earnest prayer for the last three days appealed to the Almighty for his help in these words: “O Lord! Revealer of the Sacred Book, Who art swift in taking account turn the confederate host! Turn them to flight, O Lord, and make them quake.” The

fourth night, when he had finished his prayers, he asked if any one was willing to go to the camp of the enemy to spy on their activities. He promised Paradise to the person who might venture out for that purpose. Huzhaifa readily responded to the call and proceeded in the darkness of the night to the camp of the enemy where he saw devastations wrought by the tempest, and found Abu Sufyan in a gloomy mood. He came back to his camp, and reported in detail to the Holy Prophet what he had seen of the enemy. He was delighted to find his appeal to God being answered. “O true believers! Remember the favour of God towards you, when hosts (of infidels) came upon you and We sent against them a wind, and hosts (of Angels which) ye saw not, and God beheld what ye did.” (Sura xxxiii-9).

Siege raised by the Enemy

Either upset by the severity of the weather or struck with terror at this manifestation of Heavenly Wrath, after the loss of their best warrior at the hands of Ali, Abu Sufyan precipitately decided to raise the siege and to march back at once. Summoning the allied Chiefs, he made known to them his resolve. Issuing orders to break up the camp and immediately mounting his camel, he hastily made his way to Mecca followed by his armies; Khalid, with two hundred horses, guarded the rear against pursuit. The Ghatafans and the Bedouin allies retired to the desert from where they had come and not a single. soul was to be seen in the field.

In the morning the Muslims discovered to their great joy the sudden disappearance of the enemy and found. themselves unexpectedly relieved. They broke up their camp, in which they had been suffering the hardships of the siege for the last twenty-four days in the month of Shawwal-ZILQAD, 5 A.H. (or February- March 627 A.D.), and as soon as they received permission from the Prophet to leave the ground beside the hill of “Sila’ they dispersed with the greatest alacrity to their homes.

Hazrat Abdul Aziz Dabagh R.A

Abdul Aziz Dabagh

A disciple of Abdul Aziz says one day I went to see my Shaykh. One of my wives was expecting to give birth to our child so we talked on this matter for some time. Shaykh told me your wife will give birth to a boy and you will name him Ahmad! When I went home I mentioned this news to my wife, when she gave birth it was as Shaykh had said. The birth of my son caused a feeling of honour to grow in my other wife who was breast feeding a child.

She gave up the child so that she may also become pregnant. I reprimanded her for having stopped feeding the child before its time. She said to me, “I am with child and afraid I will give birth to a girl”. She swore by this. I went to Shaykh Abdul Aziz and related the whole story to him. Shaykh informed me she speaks a lie she is not with a child. I returned home to find Shaykhs statement to be true, she was as he had said. Three months passed and I again visited my Shaykh, he asked me ‘is your wife with child?’ I said I didn’t know. He informed me she has been with a child for 15 days with Allah’s will he will be a boy. When you name him give him my name. By the grace of Allah he will resemble me. When I returned home I gave the news of what Shaykh had said to my wife. She became happy when she gave birth to a boy just as Shaykh had informed us. (Jame’ Karamaatul Auliya)
