■ What is Nafs-e-Qudsi and When Will It Be Attained?
Nafs (self) is of two types: earthly self (Nafs Arzi) and heavenly self (Nafs Samawi). Today, the self that resides within us is Latifa Nafs (subtle essence of the self). However, after the accountability on the Day of Judgment, when one enters Paradise, a special gift will be granted—Nafs-e-Qudsi.
I believe that the term Nafs-e-Qudsi is derived from the word Taqdees, which means glorifying Allah ﷻ and declaring His purity. This indicates that Nafs-e-Qudsi will be a self entirely devoted to praising and glorifying Allah ﷻ. It will belong to the higher realms (Aalam-e-Bala) and will only be bestowed upon a person after they enter Paradise.
