■ The Virtue of Teaching Sacred Knowledge
Beloved listeners, let us reflect on the profound words of Hazrat Khwaja Shah Allah Bakhsh Tunusvi (رحمۃ اللہ). He narrated an inspiring incident about Hazrat Khwaja Shah Muhammad Suleiman Tunusvi (رحمۃ اللہ), a scholar and a guiding light of his time.
One day, a religious scholar approached Shaykh (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ) and humbly requested permission to recite specific awraad (supplications). Shaykh, in his wisdom, responded:
“Teach the knowledge of Deen (Islamic knowledge).”
The scholar, eager to engage in personal acts of worship, repeated his request. Yet each time, Shaykh lovingly yet firmly guided him towards the same answer:
“Engage in teaching the knowledge of Deen.”
This exchange continued multiple times until finally, Shaykh gave him this timeless advice:
توں تدریس علم دی کر اَتے روز قیامت دے آپ کوں عابداں نال رلاَ گھن
“Dedicate yourself to teaching the knowledge of Deen, and on the Day of Judgment, you will be gathered among the ranks of the worshippers.”
My dear brothers and sisters, these words are not just advice; they are a call to action for all of us. Shaykh (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ) highlighted the immense virtue of spreading sacred knowledge, placing it on par with the worship of Allah ﷻ.
When you teach Deen, you are not just guiding others—you are creating ripples of benefit that will extend beyond your lifetime. Each student you guide, each lesson you impart, becomes a witness for you in the hereafter.
Let us not underestimate the power of teaching. Whether it’s sharing a Hadith with a child, explaining a verse of the Qur’an, or clarifying a concept to a friend, every effort is a step toward earning Allah’s ﷻ pleasure and securing your place among the pious.
May Allah ﷻ grant us the ability to internalize this wisdom and dedicate ourselves to spreading His light through knowledge.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
