■ The Basis of Salvation in Islam
In Islam, salvation depends on 2 things:
(1) Faith
(2) Good deeds
Faith means believing in 5 things:
(1) Belief in Allah ﷻ
(2) Belief in the Prophets
(3) Belief in the Angels
(4) Belief in the Divine Books
(5) Belief in the Day of Judgment, with reward and punishment
Believing in these five things is the essence of faith, and this faith forms the foundation of action. The second part is deeds, meaning that our actions should be righteous and good.
There are 3 parts to righteous deeds:
(1) Worship: Actions that express Allah’s greatness and the servant’s obedience to Him.
(2) Transactions: The dealings between people and the laws that govern society, which protect humanity from destruction and injustice, establishing justice and fairness.
(3) Ethics: Rights and duties towards one another, which, while not legally required, are essential for the soul’s growth and the development of society.
The truthfulness and correctness of these four—faith, worship, transactions, and ethics—are the means of our salvation.
Beautiful Qoute:
I am so focused on the correction of my own soul that I have no time to be involved in matters with others. (Sayyidina Owais Qarni)
