The father of the Prophet ﷺ was Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah.

The father of the Prophet ﷺ was Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah. He was known to be the most handsome man in Makkah al-Mukarramah who was extremely praised. Whilst he was on the way to get married, he was approached by two women who said, ‘Marry us and we will give you the dowry!’ But he refused them and said, ‘I will not disobey the wishes of my father.’ He then married Sayyidah Aminah al-Zuhriyya, the pure, blessed and chaste one.

After the marriage, Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah walked past this exact women and it was asked, ‘Why do you now not seek him in marriage?’
They replied, ‘The light which was upon his forehead has been transferred to another person.’ What light and noor was this?
This was the noor of Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ. Some of the scholars of Tafsir said this was the light in the forehead of Prophet Adam and it was for this reason that the angels were told to prostrate out of honour of respect.

It was through his light that Sayyiduna Nuh was saved, that Sayyiduna Ibrahim was protected from the fire, and it was through this light that Madinah was illuminated on the day he entered. Allah created billions of people but He chose two parents and two blessed people to carry the light of Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ.

Peace and blessings be upon all the Prophets, Messengers and chosen servants of Allah….
