Do the Awliya (Friends of Allah ﷻ) Die?

■ Do the Awliya (Friends of Allah ﷻ) Die?

In his renowned commentary Tafsir al-Kabir, Imam Fakhruddin Razi (رحمۃ اللہ علیہ) narrates a profound saying:

اَوْلِیَاءُ اللہِ لَایَمُوْتُوْنَ وَلٰکِنْ یَنْقِلُوْنَ مِنْ دَارٍاِلٰی دَارٍ

❝Awliya Allah (friends of Allah ﷻ) do not die; rather, they are transferred from one house to another.❞

This means that the Awliya Allah, who are exceptionally close to Allah ﷻ, don’t experience death in the way we perceive it. Their passing from this world is not an end, but rather a transition. Just like someone moves from one house to another, their soul moves from the earthly world to the next life. Their connection with Allah ﷻ remains strong, and their spiritual presence continues.

This perspective is comforting because it reminds us that for those who are beloved to Allah ﷻ, death is not something to fear. It is simply a shift from one realm to another, where they continue their journey closer to Allah ﷻ.

In conclusion, the Awliya Allah’s passing is not a loss, but a beautiful transition to a higher state of existence, in the care and nearness of Allah ﷻ.
