या वारिस “पवित्र नाम “

आप का पूर्ण नाम वारिस अली शाह है। आप जन्मजात ईश्वर अनुरागी थे । अतः आपका जीवन ईश्वर अनुराग से आरम्भ होकर ईश अनुराग में ही विलीन हो गया। आपका वारिस नाम ही अपनी भरपूर विशेषताओं के साथ जनप्रिय और प्रसिद्ध है। यह भी विदित है कि प्रारम्भ से ही आपने ‘मूतू मिन कबले अन् तमूतू’ (मृत्यु के पूर्व ही मर जाओ) अर्थात मरने के पूर्व मृतक जैसा हो जाने का गन्तव्य स्थान आप को प्राप्त था। अपने शिष्यों को भी आप यह उपदेश देते रहे । तात्पर्य यह है कि सरकार वारिस पाक को मोकामे बका अर्थात अमरत्व प्राप्त है जो शब्द वारिस के लिये सार्थक है। जिसने आपका दर्शन किया तत्काल ही बोल उठा :इस तरह भेस में आशिक के छुपा है माशूक।

जिस तरह आँख की पुतली में नज़र होती है ॥

आपका सुप्रसिद्ध नाम हाजी हाफ़िज सैय्यद वारिस अली शाह है। आपके श्रेष्ठ नाम को यदि खानदानी नसब के अनुसार देखा जाय तो अति सार्थक है। आप मुहम्मद साहब के ख़ानदान के दीपक हैं। आपको मुहम्मद साहब से वरास्तन आन्तरिक ज्ञान तथा अध्यात्म प्राप्त है। साथ ही आप अली की औलाद हैं। अतः अली मुर्तुजा के आन्तरिक ज्ञान के वारिस हैं।

जन्म तथा परिवारिक क्रम

आपकी जन्मभूमि होने की प्रतिष्ठा कस्बा देवा शरीफ़ को है जो जिला बाराबंकी, उत्तर प्रदेश का एक ऐतिहासिक उप-नगर है। आपके जन्म तिथि के सम्बन्ध में कुछ मतभेद भी है, किन्तु मिश्काते हक्कानिया के लेखक फजल हुसेन साहब के अनुसार १२३४ हिजरी, सन् ईसवी के मुताबिक १८१९ ई० है। आप इमाम हुसैन महोदय के छब्बीसवीं पुश्त में भूतल पर पधारे हैं। आपकी वंशावली निम्न है:

He (lbn Sa’d) said: Hisham Ibn Muhammad informed us; he said: Abu
Kibran al-Muradi informed us on the authority of Yahya Ibn Urwah; he on the authority of Yahya Ibn Hani lbnUrwah, he on the authority of
Abd al-Rahman Ibn Abi Sabrah al-Jufi; he said:
When they heard the news of the departure of the Prophet, Dhubab, a
member of Banu Anas Allah Ibn Sa’d al-Ashirah fell upon an idol, belonging to Sad al-Ashirah, which was called Farrad, and demolished it. Then he waited in a deputation on the Prophet, may Allah bless him, embraced Islam, and said: I followed the Apostle of Allah when he brought guidance, And left Farrad in an abode of humiliation. I dealt a severe blow on him and left him. As if he never existed, and the world is full of misfortunes of life. When I saw Allah manifested His creed, I responded to the Apostle of Allah when he called me. I shall be a helper of Islam till I live, And I shall exert my strength and power for its might. Who will convey this message to Sa'd al-'Ashirah, That I have purchased what will endure for what will vanish?

Volume 1, Parts II.74.73 He (Ibn Sa'd) said: Hisham informed us on the authority of his father, he on the authority of Muslim Ibn 'Abd Allah Ibn Sharik al-Nakha'i, he on the authority of his father; he said: Abd Allah lbn Dhubab al-Anasi was a partisan of ‘Ali Ibn Abi Talib in
the battle of Siffin, and he was satisfied.
