Hazrat Musa Kazim AlahisSalam part 4

Miracles

A lion from the picture was brought to life

In the field of miracles, Hazrat Musa Kazim was unique and second to none. He always followed truth and never hesitated to tell the truth even the face of a tyrant king. None could suppress his voice. Socially and politically, whatever the circumstance may be, he would never be under his impression and change his way of life. There are many episodes prevalent in the Islamic world that provides testimony of this fact. Some of them may be narrated as under. Once be was sitting in Harun Rashid’s assembly and someone referred to Hazrat Musa’s miracles. Hazrat Musa Kazim said. “Now listen. Here there is a picture of a lion on this carpet. I say “come to life.” it will be turned into a real lion. Before the sentence was over, the picture became a real lion. He ordered the lion, Stop? I have not ordered you to come to life, and the lion was again turned into picture

He will die tonight

Ishaq Ibn-e-Ammar says. “When Harun Rashid imprisoned Hazrat Imam Masa Kazim Hazrat Abu Yusuf, Hazrat Muhammad-bin-Husain and Imam Abu Hanifu went to him, offered greetings and thought to ask him some questions with a view to knowing his religious stage. At that time, a guard came and said. Now, my duty is over, and I am going. I will come tomorrow, by Allah’s will. If you have to give me any work, please tell me so that I may complete it before coming here tomorrow.” He said, You may go. I do not have any work. Then he told Hazrat Imam Abu Yusuf and Hazrat Imam Muhammad, “I am surprised when this man asks me about my need. In fact, he is going to die tonight. When both the gentlemen heard this, they stopped questioning and did not enquire any more. They said. Our intention was to ask about compulsory and voluntary duties. But though he sits with us, he talks with the knowledge of the unseen. They said. We will send a man with him who will stay with him and see what happens.’ Then he sent a servant behind him who, sat at the gate and watched what was going to happen. When the night advanced, sobbing and weeping were heard from the house. The servant asked the house-wife, What happened? Is everything fine? The answer was, “My husband has died. When the messenger came and gave this news, both of them was very much surprised. (Tashrif-ul-Bashar)

ACCOUNT OF THE DEPUTATIONS OF THE ARABS TO THE APOSTLE OF ALLAH, MAY ALLAH BLESS HIM-The Deputation of Hilál Ibn Amir

He (Ibn Sad) said: The narration is connected with the narration of Ali Ibn Muhammad al-Qurashi; they said: A party of Banu Hilal waited on the Apostle of Allah, may Allah bless him. Among them was 'AbdAwf,
Ibn Asram Ibn ‘Amr Ibn Shu`aybah Ibn al-Huzam, a person of
Ruwaybah. He (Prophet) asked him his name. He informed him (Prophet). Then he said: You are ‘Abd Allah. He embraced Islam and
one of his descendants recited:
“He is my grandfather whom alone the Hawázin chose,
To depute to the Prophet, and he was `Abd ‘Awf.
“And among them was Qabisah Ibn a1-Mukhariq. He said: O
Apostle of Allah! I have been a guarantor of my tribe (to pay dues), so
help me. He said: You will have when sadaqat are collected.

He (Ibn Sad) said: Hisham Ibn Muhammad informed us; he said: Ja'far Ibn Kilab al-Jafari informed us on the authority of the elders of Banu
`Amir; they said:
Ziyad Ibn ‘Abd Allah Ibn Malik Ibn Bujayr Ibn al-Huzam Ibn
Ruwaybah Ibn ‘Abd Allah Ibn Hilal Ibn ‘Amir waited in a deputation on
the Prophet, may Allah bless him. When he entered al-Madinah, he went
to the apartment of Maymunah Bint al-Harith, the wife of the Prophet,
who was his aunt as his mother was Ghurrah Bint al-Harith. He was a
young man. The Prophet, may Allah bless him, entered when he was with
her. He (Prophet) was displeased and returned. She said: O Apostle of
Allah! he is the son of my sister. Thereupon he entered, and then he came
out and went to the mosque, and with him was Ziyad. He offered al-Zuhr
(afternoon) prayers; then he brought Ziyad close to him and invoked
blessings for him. He put his hand over his head and brought it to the
edge of his nose. The Banu Hilal used to say: We never ceased
recognizing the blessings in the face of Ziyad. A poet recited about ‘Ali
Ibn Ziyad:
‘O son of him whose head the Prophet touched.
And invoked for him blessings in the mosque,
I mean Ziyad and I do not intend any one else,
May he be of Ghur, Tihamah or Najd,
This light did not cease to be in his skin.
Till he made his abode in the tomb’.
