Khuwaja Mehboob Alam Saidwi Naqshbandi Mujadidi Tawakkuli ق teaches in His Book al-Taaf al-Adhkaar about something that often gets whispered about, misunderstood, or simply brushed aside with shallow explanations…

But in the world of love (ishq) and in the light of real connection (wasl), this concept is everything.

We’re talking about Waseela (وسیلہ) – the “means”, the bridge, the connection between us and our Beloved: Allah ﷻ.

Let’s clear this up:

The purpose of Islam isn’t just outer rituals.

The Qur’an wasn’t revealed just to sit on our shelves.

Hadith isn’t there just to decorate speeches.

❝All of Islam, the Qur’an, and Hadith – their real goal is Wasl with Allah ﷻ – to reach Divine nearness and love.❞

But – and this is key – you can’t reach Allah ﷻ just by words or surface-level actions.

You must have a Waseela – a means that connects you, carries you, lifts you.

Even Allah ﷻ Tells Us to Seek a Waseela!!!!!

Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an, plain and clear:

> يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَابْتَغُوا إِلَيْهِ الْوَسِيلَةَ

“O you who believe, fear Allah and seek a means (Waseela) to reach Him.”

(Surah al-Ma’idah 5:35)

SubhanAllah – if direct access without any means was enough, why would Allah ﷻ command us to seek a Waseela?

Let’s not forget – even the Qur’an came to us through the blessed heart of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Even Hadith – which is hidden revelation (Wahi Khafi) – came to us through his blessed speech.

And how was the Qur’an revealed?

Through Sayyiduna Jibreel (عليه السلام).

He would bring the verses, and even taught the timing and method of Salah to the Prophet ﷺ by praying in congregation with him—once at the beginning times, once at the end.

This was to teach us the system.

Because this world is a realm of asbab (means), and nothing here works without a Waseela—even for divine matters.

But Wait – Didn’t the Prophet ﷺ Already Have Direct Connection?!!!!!

Oh yes—far beyond what we can imagine.

There were moments where even Jibreel (عليه السلام) – the leader of angels – couldn’t follow.
When the Prophet ﷺ was in such closeness to Allah ﷻ that no angel, no Prophet, no creation could be near.

He ﷺ himself said:

> لِي مَعَ اللهِ وَقْتٌ لَا يَسَعُنِي فِيهِ مَلَكٌ مُقَرَّبٌ وَلَا نَبِيٌّ مُرْسَلٌ

“I have a moment with Allah ﷻ in which no nearest angel nor any sent prophet can accompany me.”

(Mirqat al-Mafatih, Sharh Mishkat al-Masabih, Kitab al-Istighfar)

SubhanAllah! the depth of that moment…

So close to Allah ﷻ, that even the lights of Jibreel could not shine there.

And why was this possible?

Because Everything Began With His Light ﷺ!!!!!

He ﷺ said:
أَوَّلُ مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ نُورِي

“The first thing Allah ﷻ created was my light (Noor).”

(Mirqat al-Mafatih, 1/387, Bab Iman bil Qadr)

Yes, dear readers—Noor-e-Muhammadi ﷺ was the first creation.

Jibreel is a manifestation of that Noor.

All the angels? All the prophets? All realities?

They came after and because of it.

So Why All This Waseela If the Prophet ﷺ Was So Close?!!!!!!

Because this world isn’t just about love – it’s about laws of cause and effect.

This dunya is built on visible chains, and in this system of asbab (means), Allah ﷻ teaches us through examples.

He sent Jibreel, the Qur’an, Salah, and the Prophet ﷺ in visible ways, so that we’d learn how to follow through the correct Waseela.

Because the hidden truth is:

The reality of everything is gathered inside the Reality of Muhammad ﷺ.

And that reality? Even the highest angels can’t access it.

So What’s the Point of Knowing All This?

If you see someone says,

“Why do you need a Waseela?”

Or

“Why not go directly to Allah ﷻ?”

Smile, and remember…

❝Even Allah ﷻ said: Seek the Waseela.
And the first and highest Waseela He gave us… is the Light of His Beloved ﷺ.❞

We don’t go to the Prophet ﷺ instead of Allah ﷻ—we go to Allah ﷻ through the door of the Prophet ﷺ.

Because no one reaches the King without first loving His Beloved.

This isn’t just theology.
This is Ishq.
This is adab (respect).

This is the spiritual protocol that opens up the doors of Divine Presence.

So if you’re seeking closeness, don’t forget the bridge.

If you’re calling out to Allah ﷻ, don’t forget the voice that first said “Ummah… Ummah…”

Hold tightly to the Waseela of the Prophet ﷺ.
Because that path? That light? That love?

That is the beginning of your Wasl.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَىٰ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
