His Holy Name
Hazrat Raza
Imam Muhammad bin Hasan bin Ali bin Muhammad bin Ali was the twelfth Imam in the lineage.
His Lineage and Title
His progenic name is Abul Qasim, and he was addressed as ‘Al-Imam-bilHujat, Al-Mehdi, Al-Muntazir and Saheb Zaman.’ He is the last in the twelve Imams.
Holy Mother’s Name
His mother was Umme Vald and called as Sayqil or Sosan. Her other name was Narjis. She had many other names too.
His Holy Birth
He was born on 30th Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, Hijri 258 in Sarman Rai.
The Scenes at the Time of his Birth
A wise lady Ammah Abu Zaki has described, “Once, when I was present in the service of Hazrat Abu Muhammad, he said, ‘O’ Ammah, today, you all, please stay with us because, tonight, Allah, the Almighty is going to give us something, i. e. someone will be born at our place.’ I asked, ‘Who will give birth to a child? There is no sign of pregnancy on Hazrat Narjis. He said, ‘O’ Ammah, Narjis’ case is like that of Hazrat Musa’s mother. Hence, the pregnancy will not be seen before the delivery.’ “
Hazrat Ammah said, “I passed that night there only. During midnight, I offered my Tahjjud prayer. Hazrat Narjis also offered Nafils of Tahjjud prayer. I said to myself, ‘It was going to be morning but, there is no indication of the prophecy that Hazrat Abu Muhammad has made.” Hazrat Abu Muhammad called me, ‘O’ Ammah, do not make hurry.’ Iagain went towards the Hazrat Narjis room. She met me on the way. She was trembling. I caught and hugged him and, after reciting Surah e Ikhlas, Surah Qadr and Aayat-ul-Kursi, pray for her. A sound came from her abdomen. Whatever I recited was, also, recited by the child.”
Then I preview that the whole house was full of light. Hazrat Narjis’. child was on the ground and was offering prayer with prostrate position (Sajda’a). When I lifted the child, Hazrat Abu Muhammad called me inside with the child. I took the child to him. He made the child sit in his lap, put his tongue in child’s mouth and said, ‘O my child, by order of Allah, the Almighty, speak.’ The child said,
Translation:
I begin with the name of Allah, who is the most beneficent and merciful.
*And we wanted to confer a favour upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors.’
(Surah e Qasas)
After that, I saw that the green birds caught the child. Hazrat Abu Muhammad told one of the green birds, ‘Catch him and protect him till Allah’s order for further action comes.’
I asked Hazrat Abu Muhammad, ‘There are other birds.’ He said, ‘This is Gibrael, and the others are angels of blessings.’ Then he said, ‘O’ Ammah, take this child to his mother. And you obtain blessings for your eyes and do not be sorry. You should have faith in Allah because his promises are never-failing, but people do not know this.’ Hazrat Ammah took him to his mother. When he was born, his umbilical cord was cut and was circumcised. On the right side of his body, it was written;
Translation: The truth has come, and the fake is disappeared. The fake and false are going to be insulted and humiliated.
The same description says, ‘During delivery, he was on the ground. His finger of Evidence was pointed towards the sky. While sneezing, he said, ‘Al Hamdo Lillahi Rabbil A’almin” “
Let the Secret be Concealed
It has been narrated that once a person said, “The Caliph called me along with two other persons and told, ‘Hasan bin Ali has died in Sarr Man Rai. Hence, go to his house and bring the head of anyone who is there in the house.’ We entered his house. It was quite clean and tidy. It looked as if it was just newly built. We saw that there was a curtain in the house. When we lifted it, a ditch was seen. When we went near it, there was no ditch. A jute carpet was spread at that place, and a handsome man was busy in offering his prayer. He did not pay any attention to us. A person from my group went ahead to reach to him. But he sank in the water and was trembling.
At last, I held his hand, and he was saved from drowning. After that, another person tried to go to him. But he had to face the same position. I protected him from that. I was very much confused and troubled. Begging for forgiveness, I requested the family members, “On the oath of Allah, the Almighty, before this, I did not know where we have come. I beg for forgiveness of Allah for whatever I have done.”
He did not pay any attention to whatever I said. Then we went to a caliph and narrated the whole episode. After hearing, the caliph said, “Keep the secret unveiled, because, if this secret is revealed, your neck will be cut. The people must have come to know about his extraordinary powers.
