
His Golden Words
His golden words and advice are scattered in different books. Few of them will be presented here. He frequently used to recite this prayer, “O’ Allah! I beg from you relief at the time of death and gifts of your forgiveness at the time of settling accounts on the Day of Judgement.”
He said, “When I was in the prison of Mehdi, one-night Rasul-e-Khuda came and told, ‘O’ Musa, you are an innocent prisoner in the jail. Recite this couplet, and you will be freed tonight.’ He said, ‘I recited the following verse and was freed from all this in the form of death.
Holy Caliphs
An exact number of his caliphs is not known. Some of the names of those who extended his tradition and enhanced the cause of religion are: Hazrat Imam Ali Raza and Hazrat Sheikh Matlubi. (Anwaar e Sufiya)
Preparation for the Final Departure
When Hazrat Musa’s time of final exit came, he told Sanadi, “Call my Medinite slave who is with Da’ar Abbas Muhammad, because, I want to instruct him about important points regarding final bath and the white cloth to as a shroud. I want to make him the Mutawalli (entrusted one).” Sanadi said, “I myself can do that very well.” He said, “We are from the kith the kin of the Prophet. The management of the Meher (a particular amount given by the groom to the bride at the time of marriage) of our ladies, our Hajj, shroud etc. is managed by our deeds. I pray to Allah that He be pleased with my slave.” Sanadi accepted this, and he was brought
there. He made a will in the presence of his Medinite slave and, handed it over to him. When he passed away, the slave performed all the sacred duties according to the will. (Fasal-ul-Hamma Maakhuz Tashrif-ul-Bashar)
The Belief of his Followers
His followers believed him to be immortal. On this, Harun Rashid ordered, “Keep the dead body on the bridge of Baghdad and declare that this is the same Musa Kazim about whom you believed that he was immortal. Now you all see him.”
People offered tribute, and the dead body was brought to the graveyard. (Kitab-ul-Nisaab Maakhuz Tashrif-ul-Bashar)
Prophecy about Changing Body Colour
A poisoned date was given to him, which, after eating he said, “The enemies have given me poison. My body will turn yellow. Day after tomorrow, it will be red and half black. I will die after that and cannot able to return.” It exactly happened like that. (Masaalik-ul-Saalikin)
The Holy Death He died at the age of 55, on Friday, the 5th or 25th of Rajjab-ul-Murajjab, Hijri 183, during the caliphate of Abbassid ruler, Harun Rashid. (Masaalik-ul-Saalikin)
Tenure of his Imamat
He served the community as a leader (Imam) for a period of 25 years.
The Holy Shrine
His holy shrine is in the city of Baghdad at Kazmin. It is a place of pilgrimage for the people. About his shrine Hazrat Imam Sha’afi says,
“The pray at the shrine of Hazrat Imam Musa Kazim is accepted and granted.” (Haashiya Mishkaat ch. Ziyaarat-ul-Kabar N Nafaahat etc.) Abu Ali Falal, one of the most excellent experts of Hadith also says the same thing,
“Whenever I had any problem, I used to go to the holy shrine of Hazrat Musa Kazim and pray, and, it was granted.” (Taarikh Baghdad-ul-Khatib Maakhuz Ruhaani Hikaayat)
