Hazrat Sayyidina Al-Shirbeeny Abu Ahmed (رحمتہ اللہ علیہ)

Location: Medinat Shirbeen

Abu Ahmed Muhammad Shamsudeen al-Shirbeeny was born (may God be pleased with him) in Yemen and the son of Dawood al-Yamany bin al-Sayid Ahmed al-Yamany. His paternal lineage goes back to Imam al-Husayn, grandson of the Emissary of God (peace be upon him), while his mother, Nahla al-Yamaniya, was known for her righteousness and piety.

Shaykh al-Shirbeeny (may God be pleased with him) traveled with his father to Egypt where he acquired knowledge of the sacred law at al-Azhar. Afterwards, he spent a period of time in the suburbs of al-Sharqiya where he became known as “The Shaykh of the Poor of al-Sharqiya.” He was known to be a master in disclosing the internal and outer states of men. He (may God be pleased with him) used to describe other parts of the world as if he was born and raised there.

After his time in Sharqiya, he settled in Shirbeen where he became an attraction for scholars and laymen alike. As for the scholars, they acquired knowledge and for the layman he was a safe haven for the poor and meek. He used to constantly repeat the proverb “you will be victorious through [your concern of] the meek.” The Ultimate Truth, God has said in a Hadith Qudsi “I am with the ones who’s hearts are humbled and broken for my sake.”

He returned to the other realm (may God be pleased with them) in the year 920 AH.
