brought him water for ablution and whatever he requires. He said

Paradise.’ He (the Holy Prophetصلى الله عليه وسلم) said: ‘Anything else besides
it.’ I said: ‘That’s it (what I require)’. He said: ‘Then help me to
achieve this for you with increasing your (act of) prostrations [(Sujood) before Almighty].’”

. According to a slave from Banu Makhzum Ziyad b. Abu
Ziyad: “A male or a female servant of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم reported
that; Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to ask his servant: ‘What do you need?’
One day he (servant) said: ‘O Allah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم! I need
something.’ He (Allah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم) asked; ‘What is that you
need?’ He said: ‘I ask your intercession on the Day of
resurrection.’ He (the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: ‘Who advised you

According to Ibn Mas’od :
“Allah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم entered the mosque; he was
(walking) between Abu Bakr and Umar . He saw Ibn
Mas’od praying. He (Ibn Mas’od ) was reciting (Surah) al-Nisa;
he stopped when he completed hundred versus. Then Ibn Mas’od
started supplicating whilst standing in prayer. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم
said: ‘Ask you will be given!’ Then he (Allah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم)
said: ‘Whoever would like to recite the Quran as fresh as it was
revealed, let him recite it according to the recitation of Ibn Umm
Abd.’ The next morning Abu Bakr came to him telling the
good news; He said to him: ‘What did you ask Allah yesterday?’
He (Ibn Mas’od ) said: ‘I said; O Allah! I ask you the faith that
will never change and the blessings that will never finish and the
company of (beloved) Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم in the highest level of
Paradise of eternity.’ Then Umar came to tell him the good
news; but it was said to him that Abu Bakr has preceded you.
So He (Umar ) said: ‘May Allah have mercy on Abu Bakar , I
never competed with him in doing good but he precedes me.’”
